So here's my question:  Someone please explain the difference between..

Americana

Americauna

Olive Egger

Easter Egger

Ameracuana (no i)

Pure bred, buffs and beards, standard colors (reference the Ameracuana breeders club for list) must meet SOP for the breed to be concidered one. ONLY lays blue eggs.

Easter Eggers are a mixed red chicken which come from atleast one blue egg gene parent. They come in all colors and patterns with the most common being a game bird pattern of browns and yellow/gold. They can have beards, muffs, neither and typically have green legs although some can have slate colored legs. eE will lay brown, green, blue, olive eggs. Once an EE starts laying the egg color won't change, but might fade over time.

Olive Eggers are similar to above, except a blue egg gene chicken is crossed to a dark egg gene bird (typically Welsummer and marans) to create deep shades of olive shelled eggs.

I don't care what they call them, hatcheries and feed stores DON'T sell Ameracuana chickens. They can only be purchased from breeders.

Well, I've just candled my goose eggs.  I set 4 giant toulouse (great big eggs) last Saturday, and 2 are embryo positive.  I also received 4 sebastopol and 1 extra small toulouse egg on Monday, and set them that night.  EVERY SINGLE ONE candled embryo positive.  Its the very first 100% embryo developing eggs I've ever had shipped.

wee.gif  Happy Dance !!!

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????

I knew it was kinda controversial.  Hatcheries say they have Ameracuana's but what are they really?  Just blue egg layers?  And are the true Ameracuana's eggs really tiny?

This one is my bator he said was Amera.. but it's SUPER tiny.  Teeny teeny tiny.
