Hatcheries sell Easter Eggers that can lay any of the above mentioned colors. All of our Ameracuana hens lay nice medium to large blue eggs. When they first lay the pullet eggs can be small, but those are not ever set because pullet eggs have a hard time hatching and the chicks aren't as a strong normally.

More than likely the egg giver has an EE pullet who just started laying. They were told when they bought them they were pure when in fact they are EE. We have both and I enjoy them equally.

The blue of EE eggs is nothing compared to that of Ameracuana eggs. Unless a project color like the Lavenders. The blacks however have amazing blue eggs, as do many of the wheaten and lie wheaten.

Wouldn't it have to be a bantam to have such a teeny tiny little egg?   This thing is uber small.

Lol. I think I will give my broody silkie a dummy egg and let her raise it once it hatches. If any silkie eggs are fertile she'll get a chick or 2 to raise with it. It says they find their own food, so I think she'll make a good woodCock momma, lol. I will report on if he has a pee pee, lol.

Celtic gave you a really good explanation, but if want the "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Ameracaunas" version, go over to their thread.  There's tons of info and debate.

Araucana chickens also lay blue eggs and they have their own thread, too.

Ancona ducks

Sebastopol geese

Serama chickens

Just wanted to drop in my bator pics.  All loaded up now, except I candled and lost a few more eggs.  Now, where can I get 3 eggs???  Oh, and about 12 quail eggs.

0317122259.jpg

Above:  silkies, pheasent, Jumbo Peking, muscovy, Old English game (but looks like only 2 spiders, but its not a week until tomarrow)

0317122300.jpg

chocolate and midget white turkey, Giant toulouse goose, regualr toulouse, and Sebbie eggs, tiny button quail

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????

Aruacana have no beards or muffs, only tuffs of feathers off the sides of their heads (like an old mans ear hair lol). They are also rumpless (no tail extending)

Yes there are bantams of Ameracuana, but even pullets lay off tiny eggs at first. We just got one this week. Just like hens can lay rubber eggs missing the shells at first too.

In the breeds area there are threads for all kinds of breeds, where you can see pictures and discussions on standards.

Don't remember who said they were getting BLRW, but post pictures when you get them. We have two, a splash BLRW and a young pullet. The hens is a big ol fluffy butt. Oh and if you want to see all of the cool colors they come in visit Paul's Poultry web site. They breed Wyandottes and call ducks only. They don't sell hatching eggs, do offer chicks, and call ducks in the fall.
