If you can peel off more shell without peeling membrane that's what I do. Then you can slide them membrane down on them without popping any vessels, and wait for them to finish on their own. Just keep them damp enough the membrane doesn't stick to them.

this i will do .

it will be very easy on baby #2 the membrane is collapsed onto him. i finally got it back off his face ,

but stopped when i seen blood.

other baby i will also try it on but his membrane is more stuck to the shell.

i am running on little right now so pardon any typing errors lol.

and i no longer think these babies are magpie (could be wrong)

but they alsmost look grey. i can see an eyestripe i think.

altho baby #1 looks kind of light.

who knows.

its like unwrapping a christmas present very slowly.

and as i type someone just got a peeping spurt!

So I'm pretty sure since calls are so little they count as permanent 3 and a half month old ducks and I can have 50. lau.gif Besides, I think I either have no boys or only one snowy may be a boy, and my magpies need a boyfriend. So I'll be buying some eggs from CG once she gets her shipping supplies. celebrate.gif

they should come in this week lol.

=)

im more than happy to be sharing bloodlines with you. keep

in mind you can get about any color under the rainbow with the colors i have lol

That makes it even better. Either I'll get something different which I wouldn't mind, I like having a variety out there, lol. Or I'll get something that matches. I need to get a new pen built for these guys in the big pen. Or just try putting them in there and seeing if the chickens bully them, they usually leave ducks alone. The little troublemaker big duck chasing hubby's favorite magpie call was out of the brooder again this morning. I let everyone out with her and they made a beeline for the chicken yard to play in the pool anyway, so time to put them out there.

iPad is lacking with smilies. Insert eating popcorn smilie here as CG helps her calls hatch.
My menagerie includes 5 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 32 geese (dewlap toulouse & african) and 10 ducks (muscovy, ancona, cayuga & silver appleyard).

If it makes you feel any better these 4 ducklings are not hatching all together and like popcorn like the others. The one that pipped a few days ago finished zipping and is ready to come out. Another has zipped about an inch, the other 2 have internal pipped only. They all sound and look good though, so I'm expecting 4 ducklings by tomorrow.

My roo has started crowing. He sounds pathetic, like someone trying to make rooster noises with a kazoo. I let everyone out, and he is upset that his duck buddies ditched him to find water to play in. lol.png I told him to go talk to the silkies if he wanted company.

Usually they both die. Sometimes one or both make it, but if you set it be prepared for them not to.
