CG, I feel ya. Try to take short naps. Set alarm for every 30-45 min. That's what I did with my gosling hatch.
My menagerie includes 5 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 32 geese (dewlap toulouse & african) and 10 ducks (muscovy, ancona, cayuga & silver appleyard).

My roo has started crowing. He sounds pathetic, like someone trying to make rooster noises with a kazoo. I let everyone out, and he is upset that his duck buddies ditched him to find water to play in. lol.png I told him to go talk to the silkies if he wanted company.

i love when roosters are starting to crow. lol sounds like someone is choking them.

and wel atleast im not the only 1 with struggling hatchlings.

lol.pngI stayed up late last night too. Slept in and made DD about 20 minutes late for school. hide.gif Now I keep going outside to check on everyone every 10 minutes. I left everyone out so they could mingle. Little magpie occasionally chases the big ducks to either try to eat them or make friends but mostly they just follow the goslings. Need to remember they are calls and if I wait until I think they are big enough to be let out they will spend their whole life in the brooder.

How cute! Now that they are out just keep the membrane moist so they don't get stuck and let them sit in there until they are ready. It took one of mine almost 2 days to absorb her yolk and kick the shell off. It's so much easier to wait during this part since you can see and talk to them though.

They are mostly feathered in except for a little fluff here and there. I need to find another kiddie pool. I don't think bossy little magpie is going to let the big ducks share her pool.
