Good morning... you are having quite the night.  Thanks for sharing all this!  I hope they all make it!

Babies 4, 5, & 6 all popped out within 20 minutes of each other.  Only one external pip baby to go.  My 3 internal pip babies and the SA, who is a day behind, are all resting comfortably now.

My menagerie includes 5 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 33 geese (dewlap toulouse & african) and 11 ducks (muscovy, ancona, cayuga & silver appleyard).

Hey there! Posting here has been helping keep me sane throughout the night.  And if I don't screw up... I will have hatched 11 of 12 by the time I'm done.

Baby #7 is out.  Internal pip/shrink wrap baby seems to be fading, but my other 2 internal pip babies look good.

Wow... that is 11 lucky little guys!  We have two external pips out of 4 of our stinky eggs this am that are due tomorrow.  One is the one with the yellow ring that I sent a picture of...

My kids have told me over and over how much they are loving the hatching experience so much better than just mail ordering them. Our first little guy, Early Bird, got to meet my daughter's bus driver and our neighbors' horses all before he was 24 hrs old.  I just couldn't leave him alone when I went to get her off the bus...  He has totally cleaned himself.  I will post a picture later since he is all dry.

Got my fingers crossed for #12.

I am going to clean the hatching incubator once these four eggs are done before moving anymore into the hatching incubator.  What would you recommend for quick cleanings between my hatchings?  Several of my eggs are not developing so I don't have as many as we started with so my hatches will not be every day.  As well could I move the egg(s) back into the egg turner incubator with the turner off during a quick cleaning?

In other news, I busted open the other 2 remaining eggs... both shrinkwrapped.  One had head facing in towards yolk sac, so I hatched the entire top half, leaving yolk in shell... it is resting now.  The other shrinkwrapped kid had internally pipped, but on the flat side of egg (was a droopy air cell). I had to half-hatch to free his head.  He seems to be doing well.   I got pretzel's head a little more freed from shell, and repositioned it.  It seems comfortable now.   My bator is looking like a hospital ward!  But, I haven't lost one .... yet (although I have my doubts about a few making it).

wonder why all were shrink wrapped,,,,, a question to answer after you've helped babies and got some sleep!

so glad you thought to check!hugs.gif

I have now begun freeing the internally pipped eggs.  The silver apple won't be far behind, if I can keep my eyes open long enough to finish.

I would put some Elmers Glue on it. I've had better luck with the glue than the wax because after the wax heats up in the incubator it gets softer and doesn't want to stay on the egg verry well especially if it's on the underside and gets moved by picking it up out of the turner or carton for candling. I've had a couple duck eggs now that i've tried both methods on and the one with the wax ended up getting bacteria in it and dying before fully developing and the one with glue is still in the bator right now but growing strong.
