I think she's around 3 weeks old, and they open their eyes around 5-6 weeks usually.

It sucks when you think you have a friend and then they do something that TOTALLY makes you re-think that.  I SO know what you mean.  We're going through that right now.  (me and hubby)

The ones I have raised all had their eyes open, and full fur coats, when I got them, lol.

But I found myself on ebay this morning looking at dewlap toulouse listings.... and saw that the seller where I got my buff dewlap eggs is having a hard time moving her eggs... and has a GREAT price of $45 OBO for 4 eggs listed.

I'm off eBay until I get paid! ep.gif

I am thinking Squeak is a girl more and more too.  She really has more volume than the other two boys, has no whistle quality, and keeps reminding me of a muted honk or fog horn.  Either way, he/she is a keeper!!

Yeah, I agree about the inbreeding. I need to suck it up and spend big money to get some Silkie hatching eggs to add new blood. Ironically, this is for my boss.  I don't get to keep them.

Of course that does me no good because he already has a green head. LOL.

Sorry about little button. But it's probably for the best.

Little Julia is unhappy, but decided to use her allowence she's saved to buy more button quail eggs.  She won some on ebay yesterday.  Now shes praying that her new eggs get here safely.  I'm glad she didn't lose faith.  Now the pressures on mom to make the babies hatch, apparently.  hmm.png

I've moved my still air to the bator room, sine it was in a part of the room that gets a little air movement, and the temps ranged a big.

It's a good lesson in faith to occasionally be disappointed. hugs.gif

I thought you were mistaken when you said it didn't open its eyes for 6 weeks, but I googled it, and sure enough!  My goodness, what a high maintainence commitment!

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????
