Pocket is slowly starting to resemble a baby squirrel instead of a rat. At least with her the ugly phase is over, she just gets cuter from here on out.

And these are people that we use to go over to their house all the time and party with and go boating with.  They have changed though in the last year it seems.  Oh well.  I now know what kind of people they really are.  My true friends are on here I swear.  You guys know what I am going through and what the geese and ducks and chickens mean to me.

My babies are peeping!!! It's 2nd day of lockdown and I can hear them!!! Ack!!!! So nervous!!!!

Jeesh...this thread is full of duck molesters!!!   I wonder if there are any in my neighborhood?  I'll have to be sure to keep my ducks locked up! 

Sorry, QJ... I have no clue about chickens.

But I found myself on ebay this morning looking at dewlap toulouse listings.... and saw that the seller where I got my buff dewlap eggs is having a hard time moving her eggs... and has a GREAT price of $45 OBO for 4 eggs listed.

QJ, I dunno.... brother/sister breeding pairs sounds pretty inbred to me. 

I am thinking Squeak is a girl more and more too.  She really has more volume than the other two boys, has no whistle quality, and keeps reminding me of a muted honk or fog horn.  Either way, he/she is a keeper!!

I found my 3rd quail! Saw something brown in the neighbor's yard and walked closer, it was her. Caught her no problem, so all are now back home safe and sound. Wish they were always this easy, I'd let the little buggers out on purpose every now and then if I thought I could catch them again. I think I'm going to make a little quail tractor for them.

Oh I forgot to tell you Utah. We were talking about drake feathers.. I just notice TODAY that little Eddie has one.  I swear it was overnight. So I think he's about... 4 months or so old. 

Of course that does me no good because he already has a green head. LOL.

I have 11 baby ducks leaving tomorrow morning.

Today I got home and the silkies are pipped and fussing at me.  Oh my!  Also have pheasant and turkey due.

Our poor quail number three passed away last night.

LIfe is normal in the home of a hatcher.

As soon as the silkies are finished, or at least the first of the 3 pipped ones, I'll get a pick. 

Little Julia is unhappy, but decided to use her allowence she's saved to buy more button quail eggs.  She won some on ebay yesterday.  Now shes praying that her new eggs get here safely.  I'm glad she didn't lose faith.  Now the pressures on mom to make the babies hatch, apparently. 

I've moved my still air to the bator room, sine it was in a part of the room that gets a little air movement, and the temps ranged a big.

It's been a while since I posted any pics of my oldest goslings, so here is No. 1 at 5.5 weeks, beginning the ugly phase.

OMG MY NEIGHBORS DOG JUST GOT AHOLD OF MY GOOSE!!!!!!!  It is Sadie, my sebbie.  I had her and the BEI's outside for a bit and was getting some water and I turned around and Newman had the goose.  She is bleeding around the lung area and is breathing really heavy.  I don't know what to do for her.  We are keeping her warm right now.  My hubby loves her too.  this is the only bird of mine that he loves.  W\HAT DO I DO!!!????????????????????????????????????????

too late.  She is gone.  

my neighjbors didn't even say sorry or anything.  and we are suppose to be good friends with them.  They just took their dog and went to their house and closed the door.  I am so f^^^^^^^ ****** at them and that dog.

3 of my ducks are internally pipped and 2 are working on it!!! they are due saturday i know the 3 are because i could hear tapping against the shell when i put it up to my ear

that leaves 5 more that look right on schedule, 1 i am a bit worried about it has a very wonky air cell! I will have to steam the bathroom in the morning to monitor that egg
