Hooray for cleaning brooders.
The 4/11 batch is completely presold, so I may have 48 hours with them... maybe.

I've gotten hooked on buying hatching eggs. This is from the girl who was terrified of shipped eggs initially.

Not bad. My first hatch, I started with 14, 11 went to lockdown and got 8 babies one of which had a leg issue and didn't make it. That's a good hatch for a first timer!

I use it for a number of instances (even w/poultry, plus dogs, goats, people....) when a wound is hard to heal, or seems rather inflamed still. It won't hurt anything, and may help out. If you want to, PM me. Or there are instructions on the thread "Mildred Ninja duck"
Hey Marty... I am doing a bumblefoot procedure on a rooster tomorrow. Does it matter how fresh the potatoes are? I'm going to try your poultice once most of the ick is out.

Cows milk does nasty things to cats too.

I can hear a wheezing/whistling noise as he breathes. He seems OK other than that, though. He is active and eats and drinks fine. He is the smallest of the bunch, but he doesn't act sickly. What do you think? Will his bill straighten out at all as he grows? My daughter named him Lucky and he is the sweetest little guy. We're going to be so sad if we end up losing him. He will be 2 weeks old this Sunday.

I think your duckie will adjust to the crooked beak and be able to eat just fine.

one more pipped wrong end, one went nasty
i have them in my small half bath now with the humidifier going and 4 containers of water in the bator and the humidity is still stuck at 65
i hope the chickens work out ok! they are still running on dry hatch and their humidity is around 50
on better news i got my new mixer last night i will go get a quick pic now
Shrink wrap seems to be the newest hatching disease going around. Better than backwards pipping, but still not awesome.

Awesome! To everything! Beatiful kids, beautiful cake, adorable birds.... and a surprise hatchling!
Oh, and that mixer is amazing! Wish I had a big enough kitchen for industrial equipment. Actually, my biggest dream in one of those restaurant style pull-down to close dishwashers that washes, rinses and sanitizes in 2 minutes.

Sounds like you're going to have a lot of hatching going on.

under the red hen she has 6 eggs. 5 are int pipped or working on it. one looks like a no go (the air cell hasnt dropped)
i will be keeping a close eye on these guys all of them and if sunday morning any of them have not ext pipped yet they will be moved to the bator and helped .
ok so now for the pictures from today adventure (sorry there are a ton but i promise they are cute)
first the girls found the hayfield. the ducks are there to just cant see them bcuz they hay is soo tall

freeway decided it was a fun show. the girls completely ignored him

yang also enjoyed goose tv tonight

then the ducks learned how to get in the pool. they were proud of themselves

amelias first attempt to get in the pool.
it didnt end so well.
she got in got soo excited, she started zooming around and popped both herself and the brown duck clean outa the pool.
both were very confused. and got right back in

she loved the pool.
abagail never figured it out

Funny when they slosh themselves right out of the pool!

So marty, is it possible I can just buy peacock eggs from you? Pprrreeeeertty please? If they lay in your yard that is! I don't think I will be keeping these 2. I would rather add some more runners.
I'd love them if I were closer.
