Not pipped internally, but they are working the membraine hard, I can see it.

Just me... but I'm more of a hands on hatcher.  Seems like when I am hands off, my hatch % goes way down.

Today is day 28, if you count day put in as day one.  I'm probobly gonna peek inside, but not until tonight.  I'll look again then.

Now, Dad is here, and its time to eat DUCK!

Yes just leave the beak out.  I always wrap my egggs, if they are still absorbing & not ready to come out.  I use hot water, and a washcloth cause it keeps the moisture so they don't shrink wrap.  It also gives them a false security that they are still in the shell.  So they do not prematurely come out.  They will cuddle & stay in the egg until they are ready.

IF you choose to pip the egg... I would recommend using scotch/masking tape to cover the hole.  Thats what I do if I pip to soon.  Keeps the air out of the inside, and it won't cause shrinkage, THEN you can pull the tape back & watch progress too ..... but NOT a big hole a teeny one

This shrink wrapping thing is going to drive me crazy. My whole batch was shrinkwrapped last time... with the humidity being even a little high.

We basically just almost finished the framing for the wire.  I need to get 4 more 2x4's and we'll be good.  This took ALL day with the digging of the posts and all that jazz.

Ok, now to the right of this is another 8 feet I can utilize that I will eventually be making breeding pens that go into the run..  (somehow..).. LOL!!

And I still have to paint and plant flowers and stuff.. so it looks ugly right now.

Oh right now.. it measures, 11.5ft x 16.5 ft.  How many chickens you think can fit comfortably? I have a number in my head and want to see if I'm off.

Looking good! thumbsup.gif

Silly ducks! lol.  I havn't fed the rouens either for a while!  They free range in the goat pasture that has a running creek with small fish in it, those 3 are fed very well!!

Of course I'm going to feed them in the colder months, but for spring 'n' summer... I think I'm set.  What do you think?  The runners will be in the goat pasture, and chicken pen.  I'm getting some buff and khaki runners from sand hill next year.  & I'm getting some runner eggs from quackrrs!!

fl.gif

Our egg production has dropped recently. Either that or the girls found a new hiding place we haven't located yet... PM me when you're ready for them. You'll have to let me know in advance so I can get the eggs.

Ok, now you've got me worried. First-time goose hatcher... they're in the hatcher with the duck eggs.... What do I need to know that's different?

Awesome. Should be right on track then.

No beergarita here. Champagne, though.

Ironically, I was just about to go up and peek again. Must. Resist.

I'm actually worried now because it's become so hot and humid in the loft, I don't want babies to drown. I've got the screen door open and a fan going to keep airflow in the room, but the three pekins in the bathtub seem to generate humidity as well as stench.
