Woke up a bator full of babies (3 sebs hatched out overnight) but the slowest egg died. (a little toulouse)

If anyone gets on, please tell me what you do to keep your babies (geese here) from flipping over in their enthusiasim?  I have to work 5 hours, and I don't want any to die upside down whille I can't watch them!

No doubt....Saanens are probably one of the heaviest milkers.  I sorta thought that when I looked at the picture, but I've also seen Alpines that color.  The one on the right is a more common color pattern for the Alpine.  Both of those girls look like they can fill a pail!

i have goats!!
we use to raise them.
and a long long time ago we milked them.
in fact when i was a baby i had to drink goats milk bcuz i has collic.

its a zoo here:

5 silkie hens and 4 splash juvis....

everyone is doing good.

flippy still refuses to let go, today he can hold his head up.

but i am in no way giving special treatment if he can move to keep up and drink and eat. thats his deal not mine.

here in a little while i am going to raide the chicken nests.

boy are they going to be POd at me. =)

ok so i broguht in aall the eggs.

4 from under the red hen in the barn

and 10 from the black hen in the shed.

i have a couple ext pips but nothing big.

and all but 1 was internally pipped.

i decided to give everyone an ext pip.

the ones that had 1 i opened it up a tiny big more.

EVERY BLEEPING egg was shrink wrapped. he.gif

and i dont mean just a little. i mean sheet white papery internal membrane.

so i opten to help the one that wasnt internally pipped last.

he was shrink wrapped 2!!

so i ext pipped him and int pipped him 2.

he literly gasped for air.

im glad i helped him.

i now have a bator full of lively peeping eggs.

At least you were able to rescue them but that is an awful lot to have to help.
