Man, I'd like to have a few more silkie hens.  They are so sweet and make the best brooders.

I have 3 Nigerian Dwarf goats for sale on craigslist, and someone offered me $150 plus a bearded dragon, for them.  Really?!  Are you serious?!

Can you get one for a hovabator?

ETA:  sorry, this was meant as a quote to Julie asking if everyone had car adaptors for their bators

I think there's a backup system that works with the Hovabator. Hubby said he saw something where you can hook up your bators to a standard car battery.

We have this thing thats used for either 1) a plug in for a few hours or 2) a car emergency battery charger.  Bought it for about 30 bucks at wal-mart.  You just leave it plugged in until its charged, then when you need it, go get it and plug in up to 2 things.

When electricity goes out, you can always put the bators inside a large cardboard box with a whole in the middle, to allow in fresh air, and keep them warm for another few hours.  Those shiny emergency blankets work pretty good for just laying accross the top to buy time.

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????

Now that sounds like the thing to have!  I've seen little portable car battery chargers before, but didn't know you could plug something into one.  Thanks for the heads up...gotta have one of those, for sure!  I can only imagine trying to carry an incubator full of eggs out to the car in a severe storm, lol.

Seriously, that would suck for sure.  My lines are buried electric, and I'm quite close to the station, it in a giant empty lot accross the way and back.  I don't think i've ever lost energy for more than an hour here, but I'm prepared.  DH is just that kind of guy.  He's also got a generator that we've never used a single time, except for him to run it to keep it in shape for real usage.

Ok...went on walmart.com and there are so many gadgets on there, I'm confused.  Is there anyway you can tell me the name and model of your's?  I'm out in the sticks, and power can be out for hours, or even days.  Winter of 2007 we had a bad ice storm and I went 11 days without power  th.gif Some people went 3 weeks without it.
