I second that - extremely cute baby.  I honestly think baby ducks might be cuter than chicks.  They always look like they are smiling.  gig.gif

x2, I don't think there's very much that's cuter than a duckling. smile.png

So my ducklings have all gone to their new home with a very nice lady. That leaves me with the poor little lone EE chick again, who now thinks it's a duck. I stuck her in with the turkeys, but she's over 3 times the size of them and they aren't sure what to think and keep crying for momma now. She's very sweet, and is just having fun dust bathing in the brooder and leaving them alone so I'll leave poor chicken-duck in there and see how it goes. Hopefully ok, then I'll have a very confused chicken-thinks she's a duck/turkey. lol.png

I am very nervous about having it in the yard.  It's prob 150 feet north of our barn, hunting rodents, every morning and evening.  We have about 20 acres, with one side being a creek.  It's probably half wooded, and there are a lot of rock ledges and places for dens in the woods.  I'm torn, because I'm a "live and let live" kind of person.  But I'm going to be seriously youknowwhat if it starts sniffing around the south side of the barn, where the duck pen is.  So far, it seems very happy with the rodents living on that hillside.  I heard somewhere that the rodents will be worse this year, due to the mild winter.  Super. roll.png

I've been trying to figure out if I can get a baby monitor to reach from the barn to the house.  Hubby says it's about 137 yards.  Our wifi won't reach that far.  Walkie talkies have issues.  So I think I'm down to a baby monitor, unless I run yet another wire through an area that is full of telephone, internet, electric, and boiler lines.  One of our daughters is living in an apartment in the barn, but this fox doesn't seem bothered by humans.  So I don't think her activities will hinder it.  She's 21, so you can imagine her activities.  barnie.gif

Hopefully it will stick with the rodents.  I've used baby monitors when waiting on does to kid.  A good one has quite the range.

I hadn't heard of this....sounds interesting!

They are on day 22, so almost there. Candled yesterday and all 7 are still moving all around. Air cell is way low on 2 and I can see them pushing at the membrane so I wouldn't be surprised to get internal pips soon.

lol.png My 7 and 2 year old love the child's play movies (weird kids, they scared me but my kids think they're funny) so they'd love that name too.
