I just asked this above before seeing your post..

But what about a smoked all day long chicken.

Prey model or Barf diet.  What does that mean.

Yes cooked is a big no no for me. Way to risky, I personally think smoking would still cause a hazaed but I'm not for sure.

Prey Model = No vegetable matter

Barf = Includes Vegetables matter in the diet to the belief Dogs may be Omnivores

That was strange to me too. If I know I'm not the best at swimming there is no way I'd be swimming alone especially in a pond with wildlife

And why do people want to keep geese off their condo properties?

Because they hate Geese Poop everywhere

I'm not sure about smoked, but I play it safe and just don't feed cooked chicken bones.

I wouldn't feed smoked chicken bones either, just to be safe.  It's still a dry cooking method.  They splinter way too easily and can get caught or poke a hole in their digestive tract.

To be honest it makes me nervous even feeding raw chicken bones, but it's supposed to be OK.  I have fed raw chicken or turkey necks because the bones are so small to begin with.  Generally, I just give them beef or lamb bones, though.

Taste of the Wild is a good food.  If you can find Whole Earth Farms food, it's made by Merrick and is a less expensive version, but still healthy.  No artificial anything with good quality ingredients.  I switch between that and Blue Buffalo.

Okay.. Whole Earth sounds familiar.  I might have seen that one up there.  And I saw Blue Buffalo as well.  So I know they have that one.  And I forget now why I passed it over for the big dogs.... might have been the price? I don't remember.  I spent 20 mins looking at dog food while trying to keep the humans from playing with the dog toys.  (eye roll)

Ok this Taste of the Wild says "Grain-Free" on it.  They had a couple different flavors.  I got the one that is "Pacific Stream".  The first ingredients are Salmon, ocean fish, sweet potatoes.  And the protein is 25%.

I mix it with a canned puppy blend called "Retriever" (I think its a TSC brand)  I'll google that.

It says Protein is 9%.

Then I got something called "4-Health Puppy Growth and Development Biscuits".  The protein on that is 21%.  But wait.. I just read the small print and it says, not for puppies under 4 months of age.  Hmmmmm...

Does that all sound good?

Sorry about my new found interest in dog food.

OH, and I won't feed them smoked bones anymore.

And I didn't think about the goose poop.  But that's dumb because.. well because that goose was there first.  People are so selfish.  Nature should come first.
