My buffs are family. They get along with our cats our neighbors cats and the chickens next door. My dh loves them. They learned my truck the first day they saw me drive away and ran out to me when...
These are my first chickens, gifts from a daughter for Christmas. Once they started laying, it's rare to have a day without one egg from each hen. They come when I call them, stay close to the...

I just LOVE my sicilian buttercup, Poppy. Anytime I go outside she loves to hop up onto my back or my arm. She's very curious and loves to he held or played with. I've also noticed that she loves...
Help! What do I do? My drake Mr Worf got a big gash on his chest. I have already isolated him from the other birds and posted in the emergency section. It doesn't look like it is still bleeding or at least not very much. We don't have an vet available.

Sue, it is concrete (inside my garage). One half has a sleeping bag spread out and then is covered in shavings. The other half where water is kept, I scrape/hose out, but usually within a few hours they have spread the shavings back down the run to the bowl. I took these pics this afternoon right after I cleaned their pens.
My menagerie includes 5 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 33 geese (dewlap toulouse & african) and 11 ducks (muscovy, ancona, cayuga & silver appleyard).
I do have neosporin. This is my first duck injury other than just hen with a little limp. I think my other drake got him or possibly a predator because there was also a baby in shell killed.
