I have 3 Internal Pips.  Looks like 2 Ancona and 1 mallard/cross.  I also found a mystery egg by the pool this afternoon.  Wasn't there this morning.  I wonder who that's from.  Looks like it might be Beaker's first egg.  It has a "first egg" look to it.  Surely it's not the appleyards.  No way.  

Also, my cream legbar hen is dying.  I don't know what's wrong with her.  I have her in the garage and she won't move or eat.  She was limping so I separated her and now she won't even stand up.

The most expensive stinkin' chicken I have. Nice.

And I noticed my BAD DOG ate a chicken last night.  Don't ask me how she got it through the coop fencing.  But there is a pile of feathers right there in the yard.  Next to the snake I saw and FREAkED out this morning.  Crappy poultry day for me.  

 I would be less than ladylike in this situation I daresay.

 haha , well she is in with 6 other ducks that make the same noise as her . so she may figure it out.

id love to see a duck running around with chicks (chicken babies haha )

everyone always seems to put ducks under chickens. the other wa around would be pricelsss

They are all so cute!  I'm going to try to call that lady about the silkies and Calls.....I want my babies!

Chicks can drown in a waterer too. It's too risky in my opinion.

No more new button quail yet, just the 1, but hopefully  more will arrive today.

DD had a friend over last night, she comes a lot, so I think she can help with chores today.  She likes birds, but they can't have any.  Hmm...  I should make those two help clean too, then maybe I'd get to play for a few hours!

Need to build some little moble coops.  We've got lots of babies going on, and over the next couple of weeks I've got 7 different hatches expected.  Yay!  C'mon babies.....

I haven't seen the guy in probably 15 years. Guess I did get lucky there. I broke it off with him because the woman he introduced to me as his "ex" wife... well, they were still married and he tried to get me to help him pay for the divorce. I ran for my life. She called me one day and begged me to come over one last time and see the kids when they were with her. It was a real bummer, I had bonded with his kids because I spent a lot of time watching them.

I don't know if I'm just feeling so bothered by this because the guy conned me in a way... or because his kids have to live with having a sex offender dad. In the end, I'm just grateful that after so many bad relationships, I ended up with an enabling DH who likes ducks.

Guess what? I harvested the first vegetable from the garden today.

So, I just got back from urgent care with my 2 year old. She has what I thought was rugburn on the side of her face (weirdo likes to run around the side of the trampoline with her face against the net). Turns out she has impetigo. I remember hubby saying something about our niece being at the hospital last weekend with a rash, so I called to ask him what it was. He told me his mom said a staph infection(umm no, impetigo, which is caused by a staph infection, don't just say staph to make it look better), and that she thought she got it from MY KIDS! I am beyond ****** right now. How dare she blame it on me? And how dare she have my kids around someone with a CONTAGIOUS skin infection and not think it was important to tell me? I would have taken DD to the dr a long time ago if I would have known she'd been around that, and just found a blister on youngest dd so she has it too because no one was responsible enough to inform me they'd been around it. His mom works part time in a nursing home, and runs a day care out of her house, niece's mom(her dd) works at a daycare, so my kids are always coming home from there with pink eye, snotty noses, etc because she never tells me when the kids there are sick. Apparently this whole time she's been blaming them getting sick on my housekeeping, not her daycare kids.  Ok, rant over, sorry guys!

I will be. She still wants the kids to come stay the night. Which, seeing that the daycare kids will be there monday and I don't know how long the germs last doesn't seem like the most responsible thing in the world, and yet that has nothing to do with why they would have got it in the first place? When they got pink eye last year she didn't tell me until their eyes started acting up that the daycare kids had had it. Which makes me really glad my kids don't go to daycare, too...

now I really want these there cute

Well I'm not sure how long it takes to hatch a golf ball, but I bet she'll appreciate the shorter incubation period

Are you going? I don't want anything except runners, and I prefer to wait on those. It would be fun to meet up and look at everything though.

Cute babies, all of them. At least you are hatching out a bunch of colors, need to get to work on out duckling down/adult feather color translator lol. 

I've had a chick (raised by a chicken) drown , so I agree. I'll use whatever bird is broody for incubating, but for brooding I think it works best with like species at least, like ducks and geese together, chickens and turkeys etc. Would make a cute pic, and if you had a secure pen to keep everyone together and out of trouble I wouldn't see a problem though.  

 julie its kinda hard to do that we they dont have adult feathers yet lol.
