Kevin, hope you fix the problem gander.  That bad boy would have been kicked so hard it would have flown backwards if it had tried that with me!  In fact, hubby told me our gander bit him about a week ago and hubby kicked it pretty hard (glad I did not witness it).  However, I have noticed that the gander has not even attempted to bluff charge hubby since and keeps a respectful distance now.

Dutch, hope you stay safe with the storms!!  Tornadoes scare the crap out of me!

Marty, what day are your dewlaps on?  How are they doing?

Thanks Utah....gotta love living in tornado alley!

Thanks.  The Kramms actualy picked up every stone from their travels and brought them back and had them used in house fireplace, ext. fireplace and tables, rock entrance ways, pedestrian entraceway, fish pond, and the back garden has rock walls.  They were childless, so the house was their whole life.

It was built by man who owned a lumberyard and livery stable in town.  He did have money, and his wife more.  The second owner was a cattle baron.

This place was huge indeed, and meant to show off wealth.  Of course, now it just shows its age, but we're working on it.  Its got lovely woodwork, with unique stuff.  I think the wood came from Kansas city and St.Joseph MO.

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????

I would love to see the rock walls and fish pond.  I've got a thing for rocks, lol.  I want to put in a large rock garden, with some sort of water feature and lots of succulents.  And you have large, beautiful trees surrounding it.  I love a house with trees....I don't get the "vacant lot" look that houses have these days.

I can only imagine the woodwork...they just don't build them like that anymore.  What is amazing about the woodwork back then is the fact that they didn't have the advancement in tools and machines that we have now.  You are truly blessed to have such a wonderful piece of history to love and restore....and the fact that you have childhood memories in that house just makes it even more special.
