lol.png How long has she been sitting? I'm debating whether I should find this gosling a friend close to it's age, or just raise it with the calls for awhile.

If vinegar kills maggots I'd use that. Seems like it'd be the least harmful to her. Use acv, then if she swallows any preening it'll help, not hurt. smile.png

Julie, I am pretty sure a toulouse would get quite a bit bigger than an african.  I have noticed that my africans as a group are a lot louder and overall not as "trusting" as my toulouse... but the one smaller african that has been raised with my toulouse goslings is pretty quiet, a lap cuddler, and in general a total baby.

Hubby and I have been working away on the side yard and our goslings are getting more comfy there.  We have a dog igloo in there they seem to have figured out is a safe place.  Think we could get away with leaving them there overnight?  It will be fairly cold, but we could pile shavings inside the igloo?  Plan B is to put them in spare pen in garage overnight as I have moved my high maintenance buff baby and his buddy into their inside pen.   Perhaps that is a better idea?

My menagerie includes 5 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 32 geese (dewlap toulouse & african) and 10 ducks (muscovy, ancona, cayuga & silver appleyard).

She's too weak to stand right now.. but that was a concern.  I'm going to try the vinegar.

OK people.. sorry I'm a little self absorbed right now.

But I noticed when I tilt her head back and then bring it forward she will take a few bites of applesauce/nutridrench and then I have to tilt her head back again to swallow.  She got down an entire teaspoon of food.

Her africans are quite a bit bigger than her toulouse. Not sure if she has little toulouse or gigantic africans. idunno.gif The africans used to scare the cr*p out of me. They'd come running up to the car when you pull in and are tall enough to look in there at you and hiss, and she has about 8 of them so they make pretty impressive guard dogs.
