I thought about finding some goose eggs for her to sit on earlier on, since they wouldn't get squished and wouldn't die like poults if they get wet, but now that she's been sitting a month I want something that'll hatch quick so she can be done.

lol. give her some quail.

that would be a real site to see haha .

too bad you dont have any goose eggs that are halfway done.

I hope so. She's a midget white, so not a whole lot bigger than a big chicken so I think it might work. I have 2 that are going on lockdown today, so she wouldn't be on them long. Then I'll have a turkey with tiny sizzles, and a sizzle with EE chicks bigger than her. lau.gif

I slept on the couch watching the lightening storm so I know what you mean.  3am I fell asleep.  Now the sky looks kinda black again.  Actually that was 5 minutes ago, so it could have all changed by now.  Love Missouri weather.

It's finally May! wee.gifThis is the month that all of my ducklings should be coming in. I've got 10 Silkies coming from Holderread in 2 weeks (with alternate dates the following weeks). Then I have 16 Anconas coming to expand colors in my flock. In the meantime I've got to figure out where I'm going to put all of them in the event they all come at the same time. roll.png

PR?

i searched the barn for him.

behind the shed.

i have no clue what happened to him.

i dont remember even seeing him yesterday (i kno that sounds horrible but on nice days they stay out in the field all day . other than the hens come up one at a time to lay)

now im stuck with this plain black rooster.

Why don't you get some eggs from Duckie Hottie Guy?  That other girl did.  She PM'd me that they met somewhere and that he is "not bad on the eyes."  ;)  I told her to lay off my duckie hottie guy.

Ok UPDATES:   Chicken is still breathing.  I'm shocked.  But I think she'll go sometime today.  She is very comfy and doesn't appear to be in any pain.  Still watching the others to make sure all is well.  I think this was an isolated freak thing.  We all know how Chicken Luck goes.

Hatchings:  I have one mallard x ancona that hatched early early this morning.  It is super cute.  Black with a yellow bib.  And tiny like a mallard.  2 more will be out by this afternoon including backwards pipper who has not needed any help at all.  :)

The 2 ancona eggs have both pipped and won't be out until tmw at least.

Beaker is laying!! So that's neat.  Gotta find a way to separate them now.  I saw mallard doing the hanky with ancona.  We can't have that.

Julie- No camera yet.   Haven't been to Walmart to try a new chip.  I even tried hubby's chip in my camera and that didn't work.  I think the motherboard is shot.  But it's a great excuse to buy a new one.  ;)

Hubby is bringing home his work camera tonight.  It's a really good one and they'll be fluffed up then.  They are so cute.  They have the mallard face/head, but the ancona feet.  One even has the mallard eye stripe but is all black.  So precious.
