Okay so I can wait to go on lock down, and raise the humidity when they pip internally? How often should I check for that? I'm really afraid the air cells are too small for them to even do that.

What incubator are you using and what has your temp been? Are they running a little behind or has your humidity been high during incubation?
To check for internal pips you can stick a flashlight on the air cell without moving the eggs when the room is dark, and should see a bill in there moving once they are pipped. You can also hear a clicking sound if you put your ear to the incubator depending on the incubator.

Somebody catch me up. No time to read everything. Babysitting again.
My Chicken died sometime after midnight last night. Sucks because she was doing SO good last night. Must have been her last sudden burst of energy. I'm just relieved it's over actually. Feeding her once an hour was really wearing me out. (not that I wouldn't do it again.)
New babies. ChickenCrazy..feel free to comment on spots. Or is it too early to tell really. I'll get some better pics as well.
I'll PM you.....

What are you shakin' your little finger at me sweetheart. (spoken with a thick spanish accent.)
Oh, I finally received my credit for my wrong goslings from ideal today!
Still wish I'd got the tufted I wanted, but guess I'll just have to deal with my embdens. Who are now not only bigger than my turkey, but almost double her size.

Well congrats!! I bet it is fun to hatch from your own flock.
I can't wait to be able to hatch my own next year. I think it will be fun to pick my breeders (for the Anconas anyway) and see what I get. The Seb pair came from pips & peeps, but it will still be fun!

It's a little giant still air bator. It's styrofoam. I have had temp at 99.5. I measure that about halfway up the egg. I have had all the moisture rings filled this entire time until yesterday. I emptied them when I realized the air cells were so far behind. So what should I do?? I will candle in just a few minutes to see if I see any internal pips. How often should I check that? I have them in an automatic egg turner. Should I at least take them out of that, and put them on their sides?
Still air should be at 101, so your eggs might just be a day or 2 behind. I never add water for incubation, but relative humidity has been over 60% here lately so my humidity's been pretty high in the incubator (same as yours) and I haven't had any air cells too small. I would take them out, ducks do better on their sides. And they seem to pip in the morning or evening, so I'd check then. Can you take a pic of your eggs when you candle so we can see what the air cells look like?
