I do not want to tally what I have spent since I started this new hobby/obsession last December, but I know it is a teeny fraction of what I spend on my horses.

I thought about combining horse pasture with duck and goose pasture, but I was afraid my birds would get killed by the horses.  Have you had any problems doing that?

Id be more than willing to sell you or anyone else on here eggs for cheaper than ebay whenever we find another nest

Awesome, thanks!  They eat ticks?  Do ducks or chickens eat ticks?  I guess I just always assumed they did.  We don't have many ticks where I live.  Can ticks hurt poultry like they do dogs and cats?  LOL alot of questions....Sorry.

Yes, just east of Vancouver.   That sounds like fun.  We have a few events out here that sound very similar.  Especially being so close to Portland.

Thanks, guys!  The ducks in the garage seem a lot calmer since I gave them the extra space. I think the goslings will like their new set up too, when it comes time to bring them inside for the night.

Jaz, we have an old girl too and love taking her to events in town.  It is nice having them in their calm, sensible senior years.

Christine, so far I've only turned out my africans with my pair of ganders that came with the property.  I have not have any problems.  The geese have a good sense about them when it comes to horses, and my horses are used to dogs & cats running underfoot.  I expect the anconas will also have a good sense of self-preservation around them too, when I finally let them out into the pasture.

My menagerie includes 5 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 32 geese (dewlap toulouse & african) and 10 ducks (muscovy, ancona, cayuga & silver appleyard).

Well.... we do have a 2nd much larger garage on the horse property with a workshop (where hubby's disabled jeep is at the moment).  Besides, he's used to me bringing my horse in there... what's a few birds? wink.png

Hi everyone.  Sorry I've hardly been on today.  I went to pick up my dad for breakfast today, but he'd passed away in his sleep.  To say its been a rough day, would be accurate.

I'm his only child (but not my moms - he was her second of 3 husbands), so that pretty well leaves me alone to try to figure out what to do.  sad.png  I'll probobly not be on lots for a few days.

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????
