Most domestic turkey (except wild and some wild x bronze crosses) can't get their fat butts off the ground far.

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????

Thanks Kevin.  Yes, they're both fixed.  I've spent the last 2 hours talking to Jerry about all the details.  Poor guy must be sick of hearing about my dogs!

I don't know what the problem is with her.

We have 2 ppl interested in taking her now.  Both would be great homes.  Hopefully one will pan out.

One city boy husband that I'm converting to a poultry boy, 3 daughters, 3 Mallards, 2 dogs, one cat: and the bator's plugged in.  Hatching addict, BYC addict and you can find me in the forum "formerly known as hatch day is today" with my friends: Miss Lydia, Critterrun, StillMecle, GrannyCarol, JulieNKC, DuckGirl89, 70%Cocoa, Evelle and JazminesZoo.  I love my Gurlz!

Hmm then I don't know. Jamie the dog trainer may know why she was acting that way. Either way I hope one of the new homes pan out for everyone

I have my 3 silky chickens still, which i will keep. Then there are 2 white cochins, not sure of sex, too many people guessed different things. 1 barred Cochin hen, 2 EE, i am thinking hen and rooster, not sure though. Then there are (6)5week old Polish chicks, (4) week old white mallards, (4) runners and 2 blue Sweden/Peking baby ducks. I only plan on keeping.a Drake and 2 ducks of the anconas and BEI. Not sure on the chickens yet. Runners and Sweden/Peking will be sold as will as Polish chicks.
I just hatched out 6 guineas and 13 runners for the Guy that usually buys all my ducks. Only lost 1 Guinea and 3 ducks. Not too bad if i say so. I still have 2 Africans to hatch for him and they are bouncing around in there shells wanting out.
i had one bad weird thing happen, and i feel terrible about it. I checked and rechecked the dates on the one sebbie egg i had left. The hatch date was may 3 to 5. Well i have not seen any movement in a couple weeks so i assumed dead. So last night i put it in a plastic bag to open it up and see what happened. It was still alive. But its beak was inside its yolk sack. I tried so hard to save it but it was a mess. So i had to cull it. I feel so terrible.sad.png i just wanted to cry, which i did.
Health wise i am a mess. Been to the hospital 2 days in a row. No feeling on the left side of my face going on 3 days now. They are not sure what is wrong. Bells palzey or something like that they think. Not sure how i got it or how long it will stay. I am just a doctor's nightmare.
I will try to get on again later today.
Oh yeah, i have 2 little gooses coming my way next week and i can't waitress. New duck/chicken/goose palace will be done by then......i hope anyway. We have a huge set back which will be fixed tomorrow but then it should be smooth sailing. Still unsure what i want to do with the floor yet , paint it or tile it or vinyl flooring. Ideas???

Excellent on the hatches.

I hope everything else improves for you. I tried to help a duckling hatch and killed it in the process recently.  It would have died anyway, but I felt terrible. hugs.gif

The only other thing was one of my chocolate Ancona hens was a gusher blood almost hit the guy in his face. Yuck Other than that everything else was great. I think it took more time for him to go over all his paperwork with us than the actual testing.

Glad your NPIP went well!

Hooray for the goose sale. And glad your geese made it across the road okay. I had to pull over on my lunch break and encourage a mallard hen out of the road. She was just chillin' in the middle of a 40mph road.

I have some more eggs hatching.  Gotta get the hatcher cleaned.  Didn't give myself enough time in between hatches!  lol.  Imagine that.

Operation "Separate ducks" is in full swing.  Rob (hubby will be known as Rob from now on).. is helping me. Funny how he's either ALL ABOUT them or ALL against them.  Well.. today is an ALL ABOUT them day.  My apple drake is missing feathers.  So this means two things.. #1. Everyone has figured out he's a boy.. which means he is getting close to mating age.  I saw the female doing a head bob today!!!   #2.  They have to be separated. lol.

um.... OH!  Sold 2 drakes!  One more to go.  (Saxony)

I didn't get mine cleaned between hatches this time. Hopefully I've got my timing better for the next go-round!

I've set single eggs before. Anything to get those darn silkie ducks!

He sounds like a pretty cool guy... late teens, lives with his grandmom on very nice property, and wants them for pets.

Sounds like a great home!

Everyone:  I heard back from Holdrreads.. here was the converstation..

Me: When is the last day for orders?

Them:  June 11th but we are out of a few breeds and nearing out of others.

Me:  They Silkys are what I want. If they aren't sold out I will put an order together.

Them:  We are still taking orders.  Let me know what you want and I'll put you in line.

ME:  ?????   So.....  do you have silkys?

Here's what will happen.  I will order them and they will come back with.. "We are all out of silkeys".  LMAO!  Working on my order now.  Will submit it tmw and then get hubby good and schnockered to break the news to him.  It is after all Friday. ;)

I was thinking of putting in an order and then I chickened out. My budget can't take an order of ten silkie ducks right now.

Someone bought the silkie eggs. fl.gif that it was my hubby. If not, I'll let him live. They are pretty pricey for low hatch rate eggs. But I really, really, really want them!

I've had a heckuva day. Not too miserable, but frustrating.

Got a nastygram from the county over a loose wingnut on our septic control box. We have 30 days to have someone rewire the thing or they're going to fiiiiiiine us. I have lots of nasty words saved up for these idiots. Luckily I work with an electrician who will talk hubby through the repairs over the phone. I just need to scan all the diagrams and nastygrams and details.

The original contractors did it wrong. But long story short, we aren't going to call them to fix it even if they should because we've had a few negative go-rounds with those idiots already and when we threatened to sue them, we probably burned that bridge.

I'll have some fuzzy butt pictures tomorrow. I've got 7 still working so if they're all successful, there will be 13. Yikes!

Because septic is regulated by the county. The pumpers have to report the condition of your septic system every time they pump. Same if you call a plumber.

We were forced to get this ridiculous and ridiculously expensive septic system by the county because we have a pond on the property. It was $37,000. And the contractor couldn't even wire the #!*&! box correctly. he.gif
