Mine fly up and out of their pen, but they don't fly over the fence around our yard for some reason. idunno.gif They are very tame, they are the only bird I have out there that are friendler than the geese. They like to talk, my hen will whistle and call and talk to me whenever she see's me. They also act as sentrys and are very watching the skiesl and will call when they see danger, so all my birds listen and watch the turkeys. If they whistle everyone dives for cover.

They terrify me when broody though. My hen has been broody for 2 months now because I'm too scared of her to try to break her. She's still sweet when she comes off the nest on her own to eat and drink though.

My ganders and their african flock have discovered the babies in the garage and were so very excited. My babies, on the other hand, were scared out of their mind.  I had to close the garage door to get them to calm down.  And now my african flock are sleeping in my driveway.  Ruh roh.

Thanks Utah!  Call ducklings and silkie chicks...gotta love it!  I'm cranking up my old Lyon bator to use as a hair dryer.  It bothers me having hatched babies moving hatching eggs around.  The one that is out keeps laying across the other's necks.  The Lyon fluffs them so well and keeps them warm while they gain strength.  I've used it for chicks and goslings and it's awesome.  They also can't reach a heating element.

Well it turns out my vacation plans to IA have been rearranged.... th.gif

We will still go on vacation but instead of one long road trip we will take 3ish ~ 1-2 night trips around in the camper van & hitting up zoos, amusement parks, aquariums, san jaun islands, & maybe take the train to canada!  With my Grandpa passing everything is up in the air, my grandma is moving & selling alot, and she isn't settled..... & she is going to fly back here with my cousins in August, so we can visit & see her then.

So at least I don't have to worry about Dogs, Puppies, Chickens, Ducks, ferrets, cats and everything else for 10 + days while I am away.  I can feed & water for 2-3 days & everyone will be fine with a nieghbor checkin in on them.  My stress level have went down dramatically thumbsup.gif

I hear ya, Dutch.  I made a post-hatcher box that I keep next to bator to move hatchlings over when they start disturbing assisted hatch eggs.

My Seb pair wants to steal my dewlaps so bad!  They are always talking to them through the fence, and frettin about them, and stick close to the playpen.  They've been around the babies since day one, though, so the babies aren't scared of them.  If I wanted to let them raise them, they'd take them in a heart beat....but I want my babies tame so I'm not giving them up yet!

See...guineas attack like roosters do when they are broody.  I don't know about a big ole turkey attacking me, lol.  Maybe midgets?  hide.gif  I have pens, then the rest is all open so if they won't stay in pens, I'll probably lose them.  It's so open that the cattle and my horse can rub on the pens, lol.  I have moving lawn ornaments, both feathered and hairy celebrate.gif
