My EE's are between 16-18 weeks old. The oldest girl was hanging out with the rooster in the nestbox today, so might not be too long until I can hatch some of those too.  Since I'm down to one broody hen, unless the EE's go broody, I'll have to be doing most of the hatching now. It was nice having the broody hens do all the work. I need a better incubator. I'm thinking of just modifying my lg since i do like it. Adding more styrofoam to insulate it more, a fan, and racks  so I don't have to turn one by one.

I bought mine with fan and racks after reading the thread about them.  I was so glad, it did help.  Once you've got it half full, it holds temps good.  Might have to put in baby food jars with water to help hold temp steady.

It used more humidity with fan, I had to keep a sponge I wet daily in there.

I've been trying to seel some mixed quails I've got, too.  No luck yet.

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????

I have a little fan I could put in there for now, which would help some. Thanks, didn't even think of adding heat sinks to stabilize the temp, lol. And turning just 2 eggs isn't so bad, although by spring I better have one. roll.png Although once winter gets here and I'm stuck inside I might just try building myself an incubator and sticking with the lg for hatching.

Julie we use a 80mm computer fan.  It needs a 12volt adapter but makes it super easy to turn off (un plug) at hatching time.

Darn, lost my post.

So my rouen eggs have started hatching but...

Tell me what I got. In the bottom photo, the brownish one and the one in the food bowl are runners. The rest are out of "rouen" eggs.

I asked the person I bought the eggs from what else she has and she has applewoods, saxony and aylesburys. Looks like I've got a bunch of unexpected keepers just to watch them grow.

I'm new at all of this, but when I looked at this sweet, adorable picture and saw the word "rouen", I thought to myself "those don't look like the ones that I just bought".  Mine are almost 2 weeks old.  I was wondering if mine were the wrong ones.  I had to google the baby pics to make sure. lol.  Regardless of what you have, your babies are precious and I'm sure they will grow up to be just a beautiful.

Indeed, they are so adorable. I'm hoping they are appleyards or saxonies, as I already have some of those breeds. fl.gif
