195??  For that??  Hmm... Nope.

My buttons are inside, but I thought they could go out with wind blocks in more fair climates.

I just bought 10 dozen Pekin eggs, shipped & packaged great in the boxes, and one arrived completely intact ya.gif , and the other was mangled & stinky & crap he.gif

So I had to wash ALL  the eggs in one of the boxes & smelled FOWL rotten sickbyc.gif ~ and the other I put in just fine ALL intact.

I currently have 76 eggs going into LD today out of the 90ish eggs that made it thru transit intact  (I bought the 120 w/ 60 in each box) So the one that was mangled I knew I would not get many to hatch after losing a dozens that were cracked, & the others not cracked coated with rotten egg, and then being washed.....

So the guy refunded me total cost for one of the boxes, which was really nice of him.  thumbsup.gif

Yay for Pekins!  yippiechickie.gif

I guess they could but people usually don't because they aren't weather hardy at all.  Worth a try I guess?

At our local zoos, they run around free year round in the fenced walking areas and commen eating areas.  They scabange for tidbits.  I think they maybe do put them inside Mid Nov. - mid March maybe.

That would make sense.  I can barely handle a brooder inside for more that a few weeks let alone all winter.  They are beautiful birds though.

Poultry Processing Equipment

Currenty WA Dept of Ag regulations allows farmers raising less than 1,000 birds to process & sell them directly to customers.

Small poultry producers wishing to process birds for personal use may rent the Pierce Conservation District Poultry processsing equi[ment for $20 a day or $35 for a weekend.

Equipment can process up to 100-200 birds a day.

Easily transported in a pickup truck.

So any of you peeps who live close buy & have things you want plucked n stuff ~ Bring a few cold ones & enjoy a day of BBQ ~ Spirits

I will be doing this October-ish

Seriously. I only have a few birds to process here and there, it's such a pain to set up everything just for them. Need to all get together to do it.

Hey, you all want to help me make a final decision?  I'm taking opinions on house colors.  Here are my scheme choices.

Tell me which paint scheme you each like best....

A. Victorian 7 B. Victorian 7 C. Victorian 7 D. Victorian 7 E. Victorian 7

F. vic G. Victorian 7

Trying to decide on my house. Remember, on it, the wing to the Right is copied on the Left also, where here its not. Mine has two wings, this place only one. This one is very close to what my house looks like though.

I like A and D. smile.png

That's a lot of hatching, as always lol. All I've got is 3 call eggs in mine, and I think only one is developing but I'm super happy to even get one, since I wasn't expecting any until spring. Nice of the guy to refund the box/eggs. Stupid PO.

I got a deal on the eggs $66 for 5 dozen with shipping.   So I am very happy to get even the 76 Pekin eggs to go into LD.  I would love to hatch some call ducks! I have hatched just one, and it was just the cutest thing love.gif

Awesome, if I can put up with this drake until then. I'll probably have an extra roo or 2 at least out of my d'uccles since they are straight run. Maybe I'll try trading them in a few weeks when I know who the boys are for something that will be big enough to bother eating, lol.
