OLAH & welcome DS ~ We all have diferent types of ways we hatch, and a plethora of bators & or broody birds.   Emu .... Must Hatch.......  

remind me to keep Jerry off here for a few days....   he'll be asking for Emus again           

It's been a day, and no real progress seems to be made.

I am very worried about my humidity.

When I look into the shell, the membrane around the duckling looks white, dry, papery. 

How will I be able to tell if my ducklings are in danger?

Well Christine braved my place & made it out alive ~ & yes she ended up leaving eggs in my Bator & took 2 Ancona ducklings too! (her hubby will be so pleased )

Couldn't talk her in to a rooster

Maybe we can swap birds ! A muscovy for a cayuga or ancona?  WE ARE SO making the day of fun Chinatown! 

I have had a couple mishaps too !  I had my hubby help me eggs put eggs in the bator & he dropped one, & he said he isn't touching my eggs again ~ I guess he has butter fingers!  & once I had a flashlight under my chin too & dropped it & cracked my eggs! Happens even to us incredibly perfect peeps!

Hubby is going to be super ****** when he gets home.  I may end up bringing some drakes to your place afterall!    Or I'll just tell him I will and then he'll eventually forget about it.

Thanks for incubating the eggs for me.  And thanks for showing my how to sex the ducklings.  I'll have to practice. 

One of my ducks was eaten by a coyote when her eggs were 3 weeks old. I took them inside and made a home built incubator (white styrofoam cooler). 

Well, needless to say, I didn't expect these eggs to be successful. Today, 2 of the eggs are already starting to crack through their shells! I can hear some of the others peeping and tapping.

I have been misting the eggs with water up until today. Should I continue to do so?

What special advice do I need to know for hatch day. These are pekin ducklings and I cannot wait to see these little yellow balls of puff.

I have pekins coming out of every which end ! 74 started hatching yesterday & still going strong this morning!

Well hatch day has come to an end.....

I hatched 28 out of 29 Turkeys that went into LD !

I lost 2 Ohiki that didn't make the pip  & 1 didn't develop....  But I hatched 12 purdy little peeps out of 15

I also ..... drum roll...... ALOT Shitload of Pekins !!!  74 went into LD & 68 Hatched      

THEN the realization into play     

I also just hatched my own 6 Cayugas ~

MY HATCHER WAS PACKED ~ Ask Christine she saw it too!!!
