this is a young roo that my friend hatched out. he hatched along with 3 gold/blue chicks that looked like him, but all had single combs and one had a beard.

My friend, who hatched them, does know what breeds the person has that she got them from. She had green, white and brown eggs, but none of the green eggs hatched. She doesn't know if these came from the white or brown eggs( I also have 4 red/buff chicks from same hatch). I'm guessing he's a cross of silver laced and blue? I was thinking they might have a ee/amer/araucana dad, since no green eggs hatched, and most likey a white egg mom(s) (the others look like buff orps).

The first one may have had an EE dad but the other two are probably mixed with something else due to their single combs.  Very cute birds!  You should ask your friend what breeds she has to help us out.  smile

EE can also lay a brown egg from what I understand....see if you can find out what she has wandering around her yard...

She is not very chicken savvy. She thinks her friend has RIR, buff orps, and maybe some sussex... I think she said they are all running together.

Here's a link to the other 4 chicks, one has a short back

She probably has an Easter Egger in there and doesn't know it.
