Introducing new chickens... chicks or adults? breed matter?

Hi,
I bought 5 easter egger chicks when I first decided to become a chicken farmer.  They are grown now, about 6 months old.   Now I would love to own a Silkie.  What are the dangers (if any) of introducing a new chicken? Should I get a chick or an adult? Should I get 2 so they have eachother? All my 5 EE's get along so well, I don't want to stir the pot. What do you think?

its tough to integrate in new ones....you should keep them separate till they are the same size, then it is still tricky...there is a pecking order already established, so that will have to take place again.

There are some good threads on here to follow to do so...I used a small cage, kept it inside the coop till my EE pullets were near the same age...they still got beat up on, but survived.

It is hard, but it can work....
