I started off with a lone coop that I had purchased.

I heard sand floors were good so I went with them.  But what about the run?

I decide that this coop was just not big enough.  EXPANSION!

And I am loving it.  The area to the right will be covered with a polycarbonate roof.  Sloped backward and ready for rain run-off.

The rest of the room will be of hardware cloth sealing off the L-shaped section.  It has been a LOT of fun and already I have my eyes set on that aluminum barn next door.  big_smile

Sweet! Can you loan me your friends for a few hours? I need to get a run finished before winter... IT TAKES FOREVER! My friends just don't understand... LOL

I think them flying in from across the country had more to do with me being ill...I just looked at it as an opportunity to get some things done!

I wished someone told me chickens are like crack. I just built a coup a few months ago. know i thinking of bigger plus i have 4 1 wk old chicks in a brooder. lol there like drugs but without the jailtime smile

You're right. 
Thursday I had 18 chickens.
Friday I had 20 chickens.
Saturday I was up to 24
and dagumit, There were 27 as of Sunday.

And I was supposed to stop at whichever happened first 1) Me getting a golden and silver seabright hen - OR - I reach 20.
