Where to buy whole grains/beans/seeds online for poultry?

i would look for a local mill or at you neighborhood grocery store in the bulk dried food section. if you were to buy online shipping would cost you more than the grain. i find a lot of them in my local safeway, and dont have to pay shipping. we also have a local mill and i compare prices regularly. i guess it depends on the quanty of them you are looking for

You need to find a local supplier.  When you start shipping grains especially via UPS or FedEx you dramatically increase the price of the feed you will make for your hens.

I wonder if you might not try some pigeon feed?

I own some pigeons, and let me tell you this.  Pigeon people seem to be way more serious about their pigeon feed than the chicken people.   Pigeon racing is pigeon showing is big business for some folks.

I'm lucky, my local store Purina Mills store carries several types of pigeon food.  My chickens get some seed as a snack (they absolutely love it...although they don't care for the corn or beans, FWIW)

You've already gotten some good advice, but Countryside Organics  is a good company to deal with. As noted above, shipping is a killer.

eta: googling "feed store fremont ca" shows feed stores in Milpitas and Hayward.

They have pigeon feeds for special order at my feed store. What sort of feed and what protein level do you feed your pigeons? I'd love if at least a good part of my chickens diets were replaced by whole grains and peas. But, I looked at the list of pigeon feed options on the feed store price list and didn't know anything about them. They don't keep them in stock so there were no labels to look at.

I get my feed exclusively from Countryside Organics and I'm very pleased with the quality!  Plus my girls/boys love it!  Another place that I'm considering (because they're a dollar cheaper per 50lb bag and they're only an hour away from me) is Reedy Fork Farm in Elon, NC.  Countryside is in Waynesville, VA and I have to have it shipped to me.  With Reedy Fork, I can order it and a couple of days later, I can drive there to pick it up (no shipping costs).  They only make the feed to order.

If you're looking for single organic grains to make your own scratch/feed, Countryside has a good selection for an excellent price!
