Dumpster Diving-Garage Sale-Goodwill-Thrift Store & Craigslist Finds

This thread has been idle for a while, time to add something new!

My fiancee was in Arkansas for a job interview (6 hours from home) and the under-the-sink water filter hose popped off and flooded his apartment! Well, now there's concrete floors and we needed a few rugs. Area rugs are so expensive ($75-$150)!

He found one (45" x 66") for $4 at a garage sale. We also got a FREE hallway rug that was left by tenants in his father's rent house.

Both needed cleaning, so my resourceful fiancee used the c-clamps (that he picked up at a flea market 3 for $2!) to fix them onto the fence. Then, we hosed them down with a pressure nozzle on a garden hose and scrubbed them with soap and a broom (and had some fun squirting each other with water on this hot day in Texas). The area rug looks much cleaner and smells better. Hallway rug still smells like dogs...guess we'll have to scrub it again or use some pet carpet cleaner on it.

Use your local car wash! The mat clips on the wall and high pressure sprayers work wonders!
