Rooster Help

Thread Starter

I just realized a hen that I ordered is a rooster.  He is a partridge silkie and I have two other Buff Orpingtons.  Will he mate with them?? If so, are there anyways I can prevent it from happening?

Thanks

Any rooster will mate with any hen. Why do you not want him to?

Well, the kittens aren't so cute anymore and the easter egger cockerels are in the freezer. Plus, I think offering them as "prizes" scared folks off! So, I'm still posting quotes, if you know it let me know. I'm very enamored of this new one, it may hang around for a while!

Separate enclosures is the only way I know of or giving him away. The eggs will taste the same, fertilized or not, if that's what you are worried about.

4 white hens, 1 blue Andalusian hen, my old turkey hen, 2 australorp hens, 3 buff orp hens, 2 RIR hens, 1 black Sumatra hen, too many game hens, and 8 guinea fowl plus many many fish and shrimp.
