all the chicks had died but we ended up buying 11 chicks 5 in the first bunch and 6 in the second, out of the first two of them died one got cocoi and the other got squished by a babygate. the remaining ones in the first batch are 15 weeks old and the second batch are 13 weeks old now. very happy in their coop

I have 6 chickens! one dog, she is a Coton De Tulear and the smartest doggie alive! I also have several goldfish aproaching seven years old.

99.999% of girls would die if Justin Bieber appeared at their doorstep and asked for a date. If your that 0.0001% Who's wiping blood from your fist, put this in your siggy.

Our coop is complete, today we finished the run and attached it!  Right now we have 6 six week old chicks but 4 possibly 5 are roosters so we will be downsizing.  Our initial plan was to have 3 or 4 and this coop will be a nice size for that.  The run is 3 x 6 and they will be able to free range when I am home.  We built this so that it could be moved as we are slowly landscaping the backyard and we will be putting in a new fence so the coop will have to relocate then and maybe move to another permanent spot, who knows!

There are two perches that can come out for cleaning and you can't see the perch that steps into the nest boxes, it folds up for cleaning.

One of my favorite things about this coop, being greeted in the morning by the peeps on their perch!

You folks have made me re-think my coop designs heavilly. I am starting to think the ONLY thing I need is some pallets, a hand saw, a roll of wire and a hammer! XD

Future veterinarian with two dogs, two rabbits and a betta... Plus many others gone over the bridge. Still working on getting those birds! Currently after Palomino meat rabbits, Orpington laying hens and Muscovy ducks!

Coop in a sheltered corner of the garden.

recycled concrete path and lawn boarder leading to the coop

the old fence boards are decoration. the hardware cloth extends a foot and a half underground I have no floor. I used pvc as posts to prevent rot

Water and nest access from the outside

My feeder, access from the outside

P7010043.JPG

Secure run, with plexiglass roof 6' x 4' they have access to and 60 sq ft of uncovered run and a tractor during the day. I just cleaned it, normally I have lots of compostables, yard trimmings cut grass leaves etc, and put down a little sod I cut out to make another garden bed.

view of feeder and waterer

P7010045.JPG

nest boxes above the feeder and waterer so they can 't poop in them. There is enough roost space above the nestbox height in the A-frame, so chickens can get up high out of the wind if there is any. We seldom have frost so I am not concerned about heat. I had to put the screen above the boxes so that I don't have any hard surface they can poop on
