I am just got 6 new girls and I'm wondering if you can help me out!  A mean raccoon killed my ENTIRE flock (turkens, blue cochins, aracaunas, bramas and wyandottes......  I'm still in shock and mourning and have yet to catch the critter sad  But I will wink

I think this is a.....?http://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/106887_well.jpg  Wellsummer?

Rhode Island Red? http://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/106887_rrr.jpg

I have no idea!  http://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/106887_no_idea.jpg

i'm not sure about the first one being a welsummer, her legs should be yellow and her coloring is a little off. does she have a single comb or not?
the second is a red sexlink, or golden comet.
the third is a partridge rock.

First one I'm not sure on.. Welsummer is possible though.
Second is a Red Sexlink (Red Star, Golden Comet, Cinnamom Queen, ISA Brown, all the same thing).
Third I'm thinking more Barnevelder than Partridge Rock ...

The pictures aren't that great, but I pulled up partrage rock and it looks just like the top chicken which I thought may be a wellsummer.  That last chicken's picture doesn't do her justice.  Her head and feathers are shiny black with tinges of green and her mottling is a spectacular bright copper, she is stunning compared to the more bland first picture!  The picture of a barnevelder looks just like her....

Also, the last picture has a really awful temperment!!  Very rude, loud and persnickety..  Does not like being held at all!!roll

1 looks pretty spot on for a hatchery quality Welsummer
2 Im not sure of but most likely Red Sexlink
3 Looks to be some sort of Barnevelder

Way to many chickens to remember, 7 runner ducks, 2 Turkeys, and 1 huge BO roo.

Murphismo:

I'm so sorry for the loss of your flock and aren't sure about the breeds--first one guess easter egger, but has yellow legs, one a red sexlink, the other one. . .beautiful feathers. . .no clue.  I hope that you have a secure coop to lock your new girls up at night until you can get rid of the raccoon.  Please remember that chicken wire is only to keep chicks in. . .chicken wire is not strong enough to keep varmits out.  Good luck with your new girls!

Pretty sure #3 is NOT a partridge rock. I'm raising two right now and from both my experience and what I've seen in other people's pictures, their heads are lighter than the body, not darker.

~Meg~
The remaining 6 of my original 7 barred rocks are 3yrs old and happily divided between a friend and my mom.
Laying: 2 Partridge Rocks, 1 Columbian Wyandotte and 2 Black Australorps. 14 weeks: 3 bantam Araucana.
Cowed to chicken math and sharing my bedroom with 8 BBS Ameraucana mixes.
