what do you do when your chickens stop laying eggs?

Sorry my topic has nothing to do with this page. I couldn't figure out how to write comments on the page i wanted so i have to write here. Anyway I'm incubating chicken & duck eggs and the incubator i have fits seven eggs barely. They say to let the chicks dry of in there but there is no room whatsoever for them to do that! What should I do?

Make 100% sure that you have a brooding space set up, and at temp and dry. Bedding of some kind will help dry them, and most likely stick to them to start. It will fall or be pecked off by others shortly. Making sure they are 100% dry before doing anything with them (Holding cuddling etc.) so they don't get chilled. Generally they don't get their balance or energy back from the hatch until they are all fluffed up. Even then most will take a nap. You can wait for food/water also as this may be an obstacle as they stumble around. Causing them to get even more wet or even drowned. Most poultry (All I think but don't quote me on it.) can survive the 1st 3 days (or more)after hatch w/o food or water since they have the remaining yolk sac absorbed just prior to hatching. That is why they can be shipped thru the mail. Has been done for decades maybe even close to a century.
