Hi All,

Has anyone got any plans (or web addresses) on building a folding chicken run?
cheers

Hey there Brianj----

Not exactly a folding run--- but there are netting fences for poultry that are moveable.  Some are 4' high.  Depending on the type and age of your birds---and your intention for the use.  -- I allow mine into the poultry netting fence when they are free-ranging---  or more pastured -- so I don't have to worry exactly where they got to---and I don't have to clean poo from the porch and steps.  That said---only my adult birds.  I'm certain that my youngest would just fly over.

All mine have gotten out and gone on adventures....either they found something tall enough near the fencing, or they found a way to scoot under.  There is no roof/top - so hawks and owls could be a problem.  You may look at poultry netting on a web search.  It does fold, it is portable --- it isn't a 'safe' place for overnight or long stays.

Post back when you find the solution  so we can hear how you solve it.

First, welcome-byc  Glad you joined us.

And while I don't have such plans, it would be a great idea...something you could also move around, fold and store, etc. smile

Brianj,  first of all Welcome to BYC family!   Not sure if this will help but here is photo of "chicken playpen" I built earlier in the summer for us to exercise our babies in on sunny days to give them a break from the confines of the brooder. I built it from simple pvc pipe and fittings, cable ties(zip ties) and plastic netting. Could be done on larger(taller) scale with a roof as well for larger chickens. Folds up easy and lightweight. this one is 5' x 5' square and 2' tall. I've since done a roof for it and now it is all stored away for next time we have young ones. Just an idea, hope it helps.

Hey, can you give me an adress where i can buy such fencing/netting, or something similar to it. I just want a easily portable fenced pen that i can put my chickens in when good weather comes.

Thanks for your time!
