A classic pumpkin pecan pie recipe.... (there are tons of recipes. google it)
Ingredients:

    3 eggs, divided
1 cup canned solid pack pumpkin
    1 cup sugar, divided
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
    1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
    dash salt
2/3 cup light or dark corn syrup
    2 tablespoons melted butter
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
1 prepared deep dish pie crust*

Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350°.

*If using a frozen pie crust, do not thaw; preheat a baking sheet in the oven and place the pie on the cookie sheet to bake.

In small bowl, combine one egg, pumpkin, 1/3 cup sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt. Spread in pie crust.

In medium bowl, beat remaining two eggs slightly. Stir in corn syrup and remaining 2/3 cup sugar, the butter and vanilla; stir until well blended. Stir in pecans. Carefully spoon over pumpkin mixture.

Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until filling is set around edge. Cool pie completely on wire rack.

Yet more evidence that you should move to the South.  All the restaurants offer baked or french fried sweet potatos on the menu.

Mmm, yes, I remember. One of the places Don took me to for lunch in CT had them as well.

Can I still be a southerner if I'm not trapped at home by 1/2 inch of snow?

It was -12F this morning, and it's clear skies and sunshine which means it's going to be super cold tonight.

But my driveway is all plowed and the hot tub is working just fine smile

We had 5 inches on Halloween this year. I think the best part about Thanksgiving is the food, but we also turn the Christmas lights on that night. We spend the whole week before (Thanksgiving break for me and my brother) putting up decorations so that by the time it is December 1st, we can just enjoy the season.

I don't get to go to Taste of the Holidays now due to icy roads.

My whole year just got dumped on.

In memory of all the months I've been waiting for Taste, I've lazied out and ordered Domino's for tonight.
