Cool.  Isn't there a cartoon, no a large costumed character called bling-bling?  I'm probably mixed up on what the character looks like but I'm pretty sure I saw the name somewhere.

Ummm, well the good news is I found exactly what I imagined.  Bad news is it's $38 a skein.  I think we'll make do with something else...     th.gif

$38 a skein??????? Yikes!! That's like some yarn we got in a donation bag last week,, the price tags were upwards of $20 each,, I just can't see paying that much for yarn,, and then giving it away too! The students were just boggled and afraid to use it because it's so expensive. I told them it's there to use, just use it for something good!

Maybe the $38 yarn will come down in price in time for the following swap. It would be interesting to see it.  I bet it's pretty. Does Joanne's have it?

Hi everyone,

I guess I'm back to not receiving my posts.  I have to come completely into the website, etc.  I received a private message from elcunni and Erin isn't able to finish with us this time.  Her grandma is very ill and isn't expected to live much longer and she's been flying back and forth from east to west coast and back.  I told her we understood and hope she'll be back with us for another swap in the future.  I think all our prayers would help her at this time.  Having gone through it and I'm sure everyone else has at one time or another, prayers sure do help.

The yarns look lovely and what ever you decide in colors is fine with me, even the earth tones.

I have something at the P.O. to pick up but don't think it's Kate's box as the zip code is wrong.  It might be my darn hearing aid that broke and had to go back to the factory.  It would be nice as it's hard to hear without it but would you believe there is 25 cents postage due?

Flowers rooster isn't getting any better either and my silkie got off the nest.  The quail eggs are due in a few days so hope they hatch.

No I didn't find it at Joanns.  I saw it on-line at a specialty yarn company.  It is gorgeous but not washable so not practical even if it were the right price.  It was a mohair/silk blend.  I had just never seen anything like it and couldn't resist mentioning it here.  If I had the money to spend I could see how this hobby could get very expensive indeed!

Yes the red heart soft yarn is one of the yarns I'm looking at.  They have quite a few colors that will work and it is reasonable too.  It is also washable, worsted weight, 4 ply etc etc.  lol

Oh dear!  Erin if you read this know that you are in our hearts and our thoughts right now!

Thanks Betty.  Sorry about your roo and I hope you have a good hatch.  I have 9 marans hatched so far but only 1 yoko.  I sure hope at least one more yoko hatches since they don't do well with the LFs.

Good morning everyone,

Just checking in.  I wanted to see if there were any new posts since I'm not being notified again.  It's a good thing I have BYC in my Favorites so I can bring it up that way.  Another windy day and it's supposed to go in the 90's so will be indoors today.  I picked a big head of cabbage yesterday and some radishes.  I'll have tomatoes soon.  It's going to be a good crop if it can make it through the hot weather.  I even have flowers on my squash and potatoes.  I don't know if it's the mild winter we had or all that goat manure that was tilled in the ground.smile.png

Hope everyone has a good day and my thoughts this morning are with Erin.

Oh! Am I allowed to brag?  My grandson has been accepted at East Carolina University under an  ROTC scolarship.  He's already flying with the Civil Air Patrol in NC.
