The garden I planted on Easter is producing! The peas and beans have flowers!

We do have ants, fire ants also as well as scorpions and lizards and snakes. We see lots of birds when they migrate. Even the snow geese settle here for a few weeks to rest up and feed before going on. We also get turkey buzzards. Well, at least when the wind blows or it's too cold I have inside time to crochet and quilt. I have the most beautiful view of the Sierra Mountains as my front porch faces west. I can see it snow or rain in the mountains even though we may not get it. The window where my sewing machine is faces the mountains also.

Sounds like you have a wonderful view!  We traveled west a year ago for the winter and I just loved the sunsets.

I have been picking radishes and there are flowers on everything.  I have quite a few tomatoes and the beans and cucumbers are getting runners.  Oh! you should have been with me yesterday.  I will post photo when I get them downloaded from my camera.  I was sitting in the living room watching TV and something caught my eye out the window.  It was a bull snake (gopher) about four feet long just meadering on the entertainment center I have covered setting out on my front porch.  I had to take photos.  He wasn't doing anything except taking his time moving, wasn't concerned about me or the flash so I left him alone to hunt mice, etc.  About an hour later there was another one in the chicken pen, not as large but he was hunting and was going down a hole.  We've been warned to expect more snakes, mice, rabbits, etc. since we had a mild winter.  As long as the bull snakes and road runners hang out here we won't get bothered with rattlers.

I hope others get their packages soon.  I expected Sunny to get the first one since she lives closer.

I'm just ITCHING to open the packages but it's so dusty here at work and I don't want them to get messed up.  Oh!  I can't WAIT to get home and lay them out!

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

They're here! They are incredibly beautiful. I haven't taken them out of their bags yet, hope to have time  tonight. If all goes according to plan, I'll finish my last five afghan squares over the weekend and start assembling on Monday. The squartes will be in the center where they will be prominently displayed. I actually got a couple of my own back, too (the green cards looked familiar).

Thank you, Betty, and thank you, everybody. I'm inspired to learn more patterns even though I have so much difficulty reading instructions. I hope to be able to donate to future swaps.

Wow...I don't even have my cukes in yet.  Have to wait until the last frost which should be the end of this month.  Pumpkins, squash and like are in but covered with plastic milk jugs.  The frost still got a couple of them though the other morning barnie.gif

And I don't know if I could take being that close to a snake. ep.gif No matter what kind.  But please do post the pictures so we can see smile.png

Maybe my squares will come tomorrow....fingers crossed wink.png

I arrived home from Baltimore and sitting on my table were multiple packages... one from Betty!  I ripped that one open before I even got my suitcase in the house!  They are fabulous!  I cannot wait to see all these put together... the colors... the patterns... WOW!  I was right! We do FANTASTIC work ladies and gentleman!

I am shocked that the packages are arriving so fast.  They went out in Wed. mail and they've been arriving today.  Three of you have received them so far.  I'm so happy for all of you.  I told you the squares were pretty.  (I don't guess I'll ever live down the squartes)  lau.gif  I hope the rest of you get yours quickly also.

My buddy the snake is back on my front porch.  He's been there all afternoon and a while ago he'd moved and he's hiding.  I can just see his head.  I think he's gone into his hunting mode.  Maybe he'll take out some of the lizards and ground squirrels that like to come on the porch and eat my pretty plants.
