Teila .... ( your comment )
While I say we had a good day yesterday, not so sure KiKi, Crystal and LuLu would agree. Their day started out with the indignity of having their butts washed and they were not overly impressed. In my defence, they should not have such fluffy butts and should put more thought into the whole pooping process
Then they got to spend the whole day pottering around in the garden, between rain showers, while I cleaned the coop and water containers and pottered in the garden. For lunch they got sardines which are always a hit. I think I have mentioned before, I swear Blondie has a death wish and she has opted for death by garden fork or spade
"Death by garden fork or spade" .... why do they DO that. Treacle beaks - and "I have to be in this " .... makes gardening a real challenge.
I am beginning to think I am spoiled by my chickens .... they just love having their butts washed clean. I pluck a few feathers out that are gross and too hard to wash clean - and it doesn't bother them at all ( I am sure it doesn't hurt them as they are quite willing to pick out their own feathers on occasions - during a moult ?? ). There are no complaints whatsoever, no shrieked objections. Always an area of bare butts results - not a large area, but enough, which they subsequently cover with their other feathers. I always do this in the twilight time - when they are more docile, so I can't really claim to be good at it, at all.
But I agree - that they should be a little more thoughtful in the poopy-doing department .......
The photo accompanying the comment " We've had a big day and are very tired" is really beautiful.
Your girls all relaxed and enjoying their own 'togetherness'. The ornamental frog in the foreground is priceless !! It actually says a whole lot ? "Aaarggh - chooks ! - and all quiet ?? - what gives " And no, I have not given over to anthro-ing garden gnomes and decorations. ( although anything is possible ).
Cheers - and enjoy your week ......
