Congrats on your first eggs Aussie Lady smile.png I think one of my brahmas have started to lay this week too. I lost one of my 3 oldest chooks in the pen this weekend which was a little sad. I got her when i was first here from an old guy who said they were 3 years old and he didn't want to have them die on him so he gave them to me for free. Old whitey chook was 8 years old best i can tell from that. Her sister old blacky chook is still going so far and I have chooka a bantam cochin that i had when I lived in the city that just turned 7, we call her the regal lady of the bantam pen as she bopps around every where and looks rather royal lol.

The first picture looks like those squishy fake chicken carcasses you can get from cheap shops. No offence.

Hi fellow aussies!woot.gif

Anyone else from Melbourne?

Boy, have we been getting rain!

If every single person were to stop buying cage eggs and become environmental activists, the world would be a better place.

I went to Mcdonald's and asked for some fries. The cashier said 'would you like some fries with that?'

Life was much simpler when Apple and Blackberry were just fruits.

welcome-byc.gif Crazy Chookz, I grew up in Melbourne, (6 seasons in a day) now live in Sunny Qld.  You can have all the rain to yourself , we had our share here.

Actually feels like 8 seasons, one second your in your shorts, the next your in your fleece jacket.

Please let the rain stop!

But today was a gorgeous day- well at least over in the Western Suburbs CrazyChookz .   Although the grass was a bit wet- I did get the long overdue chance to mow the lawn today-  I moved around some of the duck pen fencing in the back yard- and had a pre- spring tidy up. It was just such a nice day i didnt want to waste it staying indoors.

Wooklet- ...yes very cute...

That is pretty cute, Wooklet.

Not from Melbourne, but my grandmother was. Does that count? My mother grew up near the Dandenongs (last time I said she was from the Dandenongs, she blasted me for it because it was inaccurate... she's from Moe. No earthquake jokes please.), and my aunt went to uni in Melbourne.

As for the weather... well, the Adelaide Hills (where I live) are generally considered to have much the same weather as Victoria. It's been so wet recently... on and off for the past month or so, but we had a couple of days of near-constant rain towards the end of last week, but it's been fine(r) all weekend. Shame I was stuck in a classroom all Saturday...

It's been quite muddy. I put a layer of straw down all over the grower-out yard because it was about two inches deep of just mud... not good for the little 5-week-olds who just moved out there.

from Rachel.
