ok Satay, here is a wierd question for you. Can a chook brood a goose egg? Would it have to be a large chook breed or could a bantam do it if it only had the one goose egg?

And adding another Q- if a hen can hatch a goose egg & raise it. Would that one goose/gander live happily with just chickens? Or would that depend if it was a goose or a gander?

I am guessing a chook could hatch a goose egg. I have had bantams hatch turkey eggs for me before. Ducky would be better to offer you advice on if they can be raised by chooks etc. I think she has more ducks than chooks but I have never raised baby geese. These ones if i manage to hatch any are going to the owner.

Guys, I really think if we do not get ALL Ozzies on one thread we are never going to have all the brains we need in one place? Can we not somehow combine the two Australian threads? Will put same post in other one. I just want us all together as there are too few of us.
