I do have speckled Sussex. I try to handle them every day but the catching from the broader seems to be making them more flighty. I've more hope for the younger three of the bunch than the older three. I'll be assembling the run for them tonight or tomorrow and a coop shortly thereafter. Next time is like pre-handled chicks or birds. Don't really want pets necessarily, but an easy catch would be handy. :-)

I usually let mine out for the last two or three hours of the day. They tend not to go too far, probably no more than a couple of hundred feet from the coop. I suppose if I let them out all day they would roam farther.
