I have game roosters with names like radio hatch etc help ?

ok so I have 3 rooster one is a radio kelso he's red and so pretty he has like goldish color that stands up when he sees another rooster IDK then I have a claret cardinal ? he's dark red really pretty too and a lawgrey miner something he's a grey and not ugly lol do these names mean anything ? I know they are like blood line or something my husband doesn't have the patients to explain it to me ? from what I understand from him and his dad talking they sound like it's all about price and showing but I don't really get it if someone could explain to me whats so different about the ones with miner blue and radio or whatever vs the ones I got him the have no extra names they're just red or grey or brown red lol it would be great

What you are describing sounds like set breeds of what would be called American Game.  Like Law Grey, Minor Blue, Sid Taylor, Doc Robinson, Radio, Kelso,  and many....many others.  Beautiful birds. Each one has a different (standout) personality.  I had a Albany cross that I called Frog. wink

These are American gamefowl. It can be very confusing to someone who is not familiar with American
games. The names are usually that of the breeders that developed them. For instance the Keslo gamefowl is a strain developed by Walter Kelso. A lot of old time breeders bred gamefowl to their liking
and called them their own line and put their name behind them. There is still a lot of controversy over
whether or not  if some people still have these real strains as there were so many crosses made after the development of these lines were made. Some breeders still breed their fowl true to the original
breeders bloodline. I'm not sure how the radio line got their name. If someone told you that you have a
Radio/Kelso, they're telling you that you have a bird with both bloodlines. Claret/Cardinal are two different bloodlines. The Carets got their name for their deep wine red coloring(claret wine). I don't know much about the other lines you mentioned but it's usually the same(breeder name then color).
People always seem to differ about the facts of these birds origin. Any ways these are American games and I hope you love them as do.

thumbsup  I agree      The "pure" breeds (or lines) should conform to a particular color pattern and other "standards" (comb, leg color, size, etc. ) And I don't know anything other than word of mouth (from breeders) about origin. It was always 50/50 whether or not you were getting the truth or falsified information that has been passed on. Some people treated their bloodlines like "the secret family recipe".

All these name mean is the type
Radio kelso got their name from a guy condiotioning a bird for a fight and the bird never stopped talking and theats how we get the name radio and it's more than likely a minor blue which is typically a white or red with a dark blue chest
