However, if I'd guessed at 4 weeks, I would have gone with cockerel as well. But now, I'm pretty positive Solidad is a pullet. There are no hackles, no saddles, and if she was a cockerel, her comb would be much bigger.

With my small flock, the last thing I needed was another roo! Now, of course, I must calm down and wait for the egg or crow. Patience is a virtue, but not one I possess! Thanks, all. Caroline
Good luck. You should let us know when you know for sure. But I still think pullet. Most of us are wanting pullets. But I think I am one of the few needing a rooster.. A Light Sussex Rooster to be exact..

Solidad has died. I don't know why; she started going downhill a few days ago. We've seen 2 first egg attempts. The last girl I had that started that way, became egg bound and died. It is the way of the chicken world, but very sad for us emotional humans. Thanks all, for your input. I'm positive she was a girl and I'll be glad when Shimmer goes broody again. She is a very good mom. ![]()
