You should get one! They are gorgeous! I love the fawn coated ones the best,

I have a friend in the UK that has Alanos and he says they are quite the handful. He says that the highest quality ones are really tough to get ahold of because the breeding community is pretty tightly knit.

I wish!! I've got 4 dogs already, not to mention all my chickens, cats, goats etc. Actually, the only thing that is really stopping me from getting anymore dogs, is that one of my larger dogs is very dog aggressive to dogs outside the family. I've had dogs that don't get along in the house a few times over the years (we've never had less than 3 dogs at a time, for many years. I usually have 4 -5 at any given time). It's a major pain to make sure the peace is kept. I actually had a Basset that would pic fights with my Pit! My Pit would try to ignore him for as long as he could, but they got into it a few times. Basset's bodies are not made for fighting, that's for sure. Those ears were especially easy for my Pit to hang onto!! Anyway, down the road, maybe I'll actually get a breed that I have wanted. I always end up rescuing a dog from the shelter or what not. They have always been good dogs, and I love mutts, but it has been a very long while since I actively sought and purchased a dog due to breed.

They sounded kind of rare, so I'm not surprised that getting one from quality lines is difficult. I can also see them being a handful, seeing as how they are a working breed. I'm sure they cost a pretty penny too!

Here's one...pop.gif

220px-Huntaway.JPG

I have five hens and two pullets- one seven year old red star, Luna, one white leghorn, Sage, one SLW, Pepper, one adorable fluffy EE, Bedazzle, and one black star, Buckbeak. My two pullets are Nutella, my wheaten marans, thirty five weeks, (who is yet to lay an egg!), and her best friend, Sammy, seventeen weeks.
