Grizzle  To Grizzle  Will Wash Out The  Color  And You  End Up With  Whites After  A Few Generations . Some Breeds That Have White Are These Kind Of Whites. What Makes Me Think About This Is The Colored Beak.

White birds with dark beaks are homozygous blue grizzles, probably also dirty, possibly piebald to help with the white. May or may not have colored eyes. Homozygous ash-red grizzles are easier to turn solid white and keep a flesh colored beak. Dirty will darken the beak on them but not to the point of being black. These may also have colored eyes. They usually do, although bull eyes are possible.

Wow, this is all really fascinating.  Where can I learn more about colour?

I will take photos of the parents and babies so that you can see more clearly what I am describing.

Thanks!

I'm working on rolling Dual-Purpose Rollers in the Lavender color.
I was thinking of doing the lebanon colors but havn't found any Lebanons.I have some youngsters that are slightly similar in color though.

My Favorite Resourse besides BYC is GOOGLE.

Lavender as in spread ash-red or lavender as in milky black? smile
Lebanons are frill stencil, which is already in rollers. Although many of them are also toy stencil, so you'll have to isolate it.

Cowboy, do you think it will be hard to get the homer look bred back out? I would think it would take lots of generations before you could do that.I also wonder how long it take to get the color and the feathered legs on the same bird. I just don't have enough patience to try something like that! Keep us posted please with what you come up with. It's really interesting. To see a master breeder at work!
