Yes!  I will only be using all natural materials or recycled materials like the aforementioned feed sack but the pink dye will be from elderberries gathered in the wild.  Only the natural dye will be suitable up against the skin of MY chickens and I'm sure others feel the same. 

 

I'll make it adjustable so that even the tiniest person with the tiniest, fluffy bird can wear them the same as big guys with big roos like yours.  One size fits all!

Food for thought ????

 

In the realm of the real chicken world I have noticed a trend over the past year. As many of you know I frequent at least 3-4 poultry auctions every month year round and even as recently as 2 years ago I used to see a huge number of Foo-Foo birds and Foo-Foo breeds at the auctions. folks were breeding and selling chicks, hatching eggs and adults. This past year guess what ....... narry a single trio has come through the ring, everything you see now are all utility breeds and egg layers out the wazzoo. My guess is the crappy economy has forced people into a more reality based direction with their flocks and are concentrating on the basics like............. my flock should try to pay it's way at the farm. 

 

What trends if any have you folks seen in the chicken/poultry world in the year or two in your neck of the woods.

I always suspected that you were really a sensitive male behind all that gruff. Make sure you specify double wide for your Cornish.

Bee: can you also make some aprons for me to protect the ladies from any rooster who get's to frisky and are too rough, Oh and I need few chicken diapers as well. You see I have a few special needs chickens that I was fortunate enough to find at the shelter, and they are living inside the house. They are very well trained and are so sweet, but they sometimes poop on the couch and my laptop keyboard, silly little things, it's so cute to watch them poop on my desk. I will think of names for them soon once I get an idea of their own personalities.

Oh, Al!  It's so good to see you come out and expose your more sensitive side.  You are truly an inspiration for us all and I admire you for it.  Now I can admit that I already have chicken diapers and saddles on my flock and on hand at all times.  I'll send some right out to you....bless your heart for rescuing those poor chickens!  You are such a sweety!  I've seriously misjudged you in thinking you were a crusty ol' curmudgeon.

Thank's Bee it means allot to have others who understand how difficult it is to be surrounded by all this culling and freezer camp crowd. I just have such a hard time reading some post that think the axe is the only way to fix a sick or injured chicken, I love my little babies and would never think to harm them by putting them outside if they are sick and have the sniffles. they look at me with those cute little sad eyes, I get choked up sometimes. I am taking several of them to the Vet on Monday, the Vet say's he can see them all and it will only cost me around $200.00 per bird before med's/perscriptions and any treatment they need. The Vet is really nice and she said she will be glad to see them on short notice, and the price is great don't you think, it's worth it for my girls.
