It depends if you want to show or just want them to look at as in order to be shown pigeons have to have a band.

oh i was more ranting as many cities and towns, this one in in also, has a program were they annually poison and/or shoot all the ferals ect (a lot of stray homers and other breeds gone wild, and mixed in the blood),  in town.. if they just cleaned up the slummy crude hole, the pigeons wouldnt be so prevalent (ive seen pigeons eating flies and roaches, so know theyre more than seed eaters).  one year they did the poisoning right before a parade.. it was great!  just not for the pigeons.

assorted bantam mixes..    pigeon types for now: "white dove release" racing homers, flying flights, flying birmingham rollers, parlor rollers, parlor tumblers, "coop tumblers", Chinease owls.

Looking to talk to others who enjoy our pigeon/dove hobby.  Also looking to talk bantam chickens, especially black bantam true rosecombs i hope to have soon.

my neighbors rollers, left to free fly mostly, used to eat insects, chase mice, and eat a lot of road kill, till the female got hit by a car.  i originally assumed they were eating tiny bugs off the insides of carcasses but they turned out to be eating the meat.    as they were getting chick feed and laying pellets, parakeet food, wild bird seed, and corn, rice tortilla ect    does that inciates that something was till missing from diet for them to be eating animal protiens, esspecially when trying to nest it seemed?    id never noticed pigeons doing any of this before when worked with pigeons in non pet thing, besides bugs, but then even mostly ants ect.

im not sure, but my pigeons and doves never caught coryza from my small one flock that they were with that had gotten it.  coulda just been lucky, as supposedly pigeons are horribly deadly suseptible to everything other birds get, that may not effect other birds as bad or as fast.    course i assume i was just lucky, as doves die supposedly if u sneeze on them.. lol
