Australorps-Earliest Age of Laying?

Hi all,
My Australorp hen is about 18 weeks old. This is my first flock and so I don't know when they'll begin to lay. Her comb and wattles have been getting bigger and redder recently.
What is the earliest age your Australorps started laying?
 
for some reason, my girls always seem to be late bloomers...with that said, the shortened days of winter will affect your girl's egg laying time. Mine are like 26 weeks now, and I still have not seen my first egg. I have been keeping a count down so to speak on another thread with others...

I just began keeping chickens this past summer and my first few (three pullets and three cockerels, initially. I have since re-homed one young roo, and am looking to re-home one more) were Black Australorps. Mine were hatched in May, and I took possession of them in mid - July. The pullets began laying on Sunday, November 20th, and after skipping only a couple of days during the first week, I am now seeing an egg every day, and some days two. I suppose you can do the math - I don't know their exact hatch date, not having hatched them, but they were from show quality stock, so they likely matured more slowly, albeit with a steady, well-rounded diet.

I eagerly await the onset of increased hours of daylight, and reliably gathering three eggs a day at least five days a week!

I only have one black austrolorp, and I didn't get her until she was around 6 weeks old, so I don't know her exact date of birth, but she began laying around the 5 month mark, and that was even in winter...all my 4 hens started laying at the same time/age. I was surprised they were so young, and that they started laying in February in Wisconsin. You never know when they'll start, though.
 
My Black Australorp wil be 24 weeks tomorrow and no eggs yet, we are playing the waiting game.....

I have 7 ausies and the first one layed at 21 weeks and all were laying by 24 weeks. These are from cackle hatchery tho and I think if you have SQ pullets they mature a little slower and may take a little longer to start laying.If you have a pullet whose comb and wattles are getiing red and bigger it shouldn't be long. The wait can seem to take forever but will pass.
