Oh no they didn't! EEK!!!

My dad just turned 89 years old, last month.  He went down to get his driver's license renewed then, but had taken the wrong paperwork with him, so they gave him a temporary license while he gathered the correct paperwork.

He went back to the DMV today.  They renewed his license.  The new one is good until he's 95 years old!!!!!   th

Fair warning to all of you that live in central Florida.  My dad is on the road.  hide

One of the things I am grateful for is that my 90 year old father in law injured his leg and can no longer drive.  Very grateful for that injury.

ep       It is really hard for them to give up their independence. We were lucky my Grandfather decided oon his own when he should no longer drive. He was well into his 80s.

barnie  Yikes. I am among those who think that once you hit a certain age, you should be required to renew your license ANUALLY!!!

He made the lame walk and the dumb talk. He opened blinded eyes to see that the sun rises on His time, yet He knows our deepest desperate need. And the world waits while His heart aches to realize the dream. I wonder what life would be like if we let Jesus live through you and me...

He doesn't drive at night anymore, which is good.  He also promised me no more trips to a town 50 miles away just because there's a restaurant there that has a buffet he likes.

I think everyone should have to retake the driver's test every 10 years...it would keep so many idiots off the road.  I'm not worried about the old people, I'm worried about the people who can't live without their phones for 10 minutes.

Teenage drivers worry me a lot more than 95-year old drivers.
