My dad just turned 89 years old, last month. He went down to get his driver's license renewed then, but had taken the wrong paperwork with him, so they gave him a temporary license while he gathered the correct paperwork.
He went back to the DMV today. They renewed his license. The new one is good until he's 95 years old!!!!!
Fair warning to all of you that live in central Florida. My dad is on the road.
I'll never develop a thick skin. Thick skin leads to a hard heart and I never want to be one of those people.

It is really hard for them to give up their independence. We were lucky my Grandfather decided oon his own when he should no longer drive. He was well into his 80s.
Yikes. I am among those who think that once you hit a certain age, you should be required to renew your license ANUALLY!!!
