Anyone up for a Hatchalong? - Page 146

I am new to the forum (first post was in the introductory thread) but I have read this thread from start to finish. I think it is amazing what you guys are doing and it is lovely to see the photos of your new little guys. I really felt for everyone that lost an egg or even worse a baby. I have been showing my kids the videos of the babies being born and I just wanted to say thanks for all the stories, the lovely photos and the awesome videos.

I have - 4 children, 1 bearded dragon, 4 hermit crabs, 2 cats (both mixed breeds and both rescues), 3 dogs (1 whippet rescue, 1 whippet ex show and 1 beagle ex show), 4 ducks (1 Runner drake, 2 Runner ducks and 1 Muscovy duck), 12 baby chicks (mixed breeds), 3 bantam silkie crosses, 2 Australorp crosses and 2 mixed breed layer chooks. I love all animals.

I sent the membranes in the mail today. Hope that I get a pair. fl.gif

21%  is still a bit high.. but should be ok for the first week

lol.. getting a pair is hard (or so it seems).. I have mostly boys!

we need more females here!... so far we only have 1 girl and the rest are boys.. still need to get around to sending in the rest of the DNA tests... maybe when I have the results back I'll have a better boy/girl ratio

You can cut the high protein feed with another feed too, this is what I did.

Feed Crude Protein Crude Fat Crude Fiber Calcium Phosphorus Salt Lysine Methionine
Chicken Layer 16.00% 2.70% 4.00% 2.50% 0.40% 0.25% 0.70% 0.20%
Rabbit Pellets 17.00% 1.90% 20.00% 0.90% 0.25% 0.48%
Chick Starter 23.00% 2.00% 4.00% 0.50% 0.50% 0.15% 1.00% 0.30%

Starter Mix 18.67% 2.20% 9.33% 1.30% 0.38% 0.29% 0.85% 0.25%
Feed Mix 16.50% 2.30% 12.00% 1.70% 0.33% 0.36% 0.70% 0.20%

Difference (Starter Mix) 2.33% 0.30% 2.33% 0.08% 0.02% 1.31% 0.25% 0.45%
Difference (Feed Mix) 0.50% 0.30% 1.00% 0.55% 0.33% 0.29% 0.14% 0.16%

Mazuri Ratite Starter 21.00% 2.50% 7.00% 1.22% 0.40% 1.60% 1.10% 0.70%
Mazuri Emu Feed 17.00% 2.00% 11.00% 1.15% 0.65% 0.65% 0.84% 0.36%

You could possibly get some reptile supplement powder to mix in as well if the calcium is too low, and those are often packed with other vitamins as well.
